My sister and her husband will be making their way down to Disney the week after Christmas. I have heard that this is normally a very crowded time for Disney. Add in two boys ages two and three and I am sure it will make for a very FUN, yet very hectic trip.

What are your best pieces of advice for my sister? What does she need to do to make the trip run smoother? Any advice/tips you may have would be greatly appreciated.

I told her that she needs to pay for me to come with as the designated nanny, then all of her worries would be eased! ;)

I suggest she bring lots of patience and little snacks to give the kids while waiting in lines.

I'll be there then too, but my kids are 14 &16 so it's a little different.

Tell her to just remember that she doesn't have to try to cram in lots of stuff, her kids won't remember much of the trip as they get older. Just enjoy them having fun. If she thinks she'll be going back again in a few years, she might want to take a picture in a certain location so the next time she comes she can take a new picture in the same location.

Definitely bring a stoller or rent a stroller. My son is 2 and we had annual passes so we went several times this year. He loves it. He is so excited and amazed by everything that he is a perfect angel. We just plan down time in the day so that he can nap etc... We also make sure we leave at a decent time most nights so that he can get his rest. As the OP stated, have snacks on hand as well. We have always had a blast, he loves Disney World!!!

cat1239 & disyidkid... Thanks you two so much for the great advice! I will pass along all your tips and info to my sister!

With little ones, we have used our own stroller. At the end of the day, our children often feel asleep and having to carry them from the bus stop/monorail to the room could be so long! If your stroller is easily collapsable and easy to hold on to (in case you have to stand on the bus), it will make things easier.

Are you staying on Disney property? We have visited WDW during the Christmas week several times with toddlers and have found early entry one of the best things for us. We are morning people, so getting up early was no problem.

Early entry at the Magic Kingdom is absolutely worth its weight in gold. We go right to Fantasyland and park the stroller (easy to walk around with littles ones), ride Dumbo FIRST, and then walk on most of the other Fantasyland rides before the park opens.

We then do a couple of different things: We can get Buzz fast passes, then Tomorrowland Speedway (horrible lines if not done early), and then Toon Town when it opens.

On a different day, we go from Fantasyland to Frontierland and Adventureland as the park opens.

Early entry allows us to get so much accomplished in the MK with little waits. We then head out of the park around lunch (great time to wander through Main Street stores) to go back to the room for naps.

If you aren't at a Disney resort, go to a different park than the one with early entry. Also, keep checking the WDW website because the hours often change close to the holidays AND check the weather forecast. We have had several cold trips over Christmas (coats, hats, & mittens).

Character meals are also wonderful time-savers. The characters come to you! You don't have to stand in line to meet them. And, if you do go to an official character greeting, a cast member will take your picture with your camera.

I think if you keep things simple and don't try to do it all with toddlers the trip will be less stressful. Kids are easy to please - They will likely think the monorail is just as fun as other rides! The resorts (GF & WL) are worth visiting for a break to enjoy the decorations.

ENJOY yourselves! WDW at Christmas is so wonderful.

my3boys... WOW...thanks for all of that great advice. Unfortunately I am not going, just my sister and her family! However- all this help that I am giving them with planning is really making me want to go so badly! My husband and I made our first ever trip to Disneyworld this September and we cannot wait to go back!

Anyways- they ARE staying on-Disney, which is great cause it will make afternoon breaks alot easier, and they will get the EE on certain days! You plan for the MK on an EE morning is a great one, I will be sure to let my sister know about that!

Thank you again for all of your advice, I really appreciate it!
