Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I typed up the full story a few days after she was born so I wouldn't forget the details and one day I can share it with her. But basically she's the 3rd born and I was induced with the first 2. I was 2 days late with her so I expected to have to get induced again. And I always feared I wouldn't know if it was real labor and didn't want to get sent home. I'm a bit stubborn. Anyhow, my contractions started but we're completely irregular. I was timing them but they never fell into a pattern, although they kept getting stronger. I called the dr and the nurse told me to wait until they were 5 minutes apart for an hour. About an hour later I was screaming in pain and DH said it was time to go. I went to use the restroom before leaving the house and felt pressure. Uh oh! 40 minute drive to the hospital and it started raining. DH drove as fast as he could but thought we were in the clear because my water hadn't broke yet. It then broke 5 minutes from the hospital. We pulled into the ER entrance, he slam into park and ran inside. While he was inside our baby girl made her appearance. I was holding her in my arms when he came back out with a large group of nurses. I handed her to a nurse and said "can you tell me if it's a boy or girl?" (We never find out before). DH tells the story best because he says when he came back out to the car he heard a baby crying and couldn't believe it. She was perfectly healthy with a head full of red hair!

Our 4th was born 16 months ago and we got to the hospital plenty early...they almost sent us home. But thankfully my water broke so I had to stay. 8 hours later our Disney baby was born, and 11 weeks later he made his first "real" trip to Disney.
Love this story! It reminds me of my college friend's first baby. She had already had two "false alarms" that turned out to be Braxton hicks contractions when she called me from the hospital to say she was on her way home, her latest contractions were only Braxton Hicks again. 4 hours later she called me and asked if I could drive her to the hospital again, her contractions were getting worse but her husband had gone ahead to work over an hour away.

I quickly got over to their apartment and she was standing there eating a PB & J sandwich. I said I thought you were in labor, she said she was having contractions that came and went but she was hungry too. So as we got into my car, I wasn't worried, she had been told only 4 hours earlier that she was in false labor, she had almost 4 weeks to her due date and she was eating like crazy. Hospital was 35 minutes away. About half way to the hospital she began really screaming about her contractions and her water broke. She then unbuckled her seat belt, crawled onto her knees and insisted she was having the baby. I freaked out, sped up and told her to stop pushing. Ha!

By the time I reached the ER entrance, blowing the horn, she was pushing like crazy saying she could feel the head. I didn't believe her (in total denial) until she grabbed my hand and forced me to feel the baby's head under her dress.

Thankfully, all sorts of people came running out to help us because as was they were getting her out of the car, the baby dropped/plopped out. A wonderful nurse caught him before he hit the ground! I was traumatized, my friend was laughing hysterically and the baby was just fine!

The same, however, cannot be said about my car. We had to replace the seat and carpeting in the car.

Can I say :scared1::scared1::scared1:?! It's amazing and so scary at the same time! I think if I get pregnant again, the hospital will definitely not get rid of me! :rotfl:

I have had a couple conversations with people who have been to WDW once. One asked if we really go to all the parks, and one asked how/why we have gone every year (for the last three years).

Meanwhile, I am trying to figure out how people go to WDW and only do MK... or how to try to fit in our favorites and the new things during our week there. There are still LOTS of things I want to do that haven't fit into the plan, even on trip #3 (like HDD - just can't budget the time to get there!).

Guess that is why I am here and they aren't! ;)

Wow. Sounds like my sil. She went to wdw once or twice as a child but says all she really remembers is swimming in the pool and she has no desire to ever go back. Makes me sad, but I know wdw isn't the best vacation for everyone.

Anyone else following their Magicband tracking and feel like Goofy himself is delivering? By watching the tracking locations that have bounced all over the place, and have been out for delivery twice and never delivered and always that night received at some other post office a few towns over.

My MBs aren't bouncing around, they just seem to not be going anywhere. At least not fast! :badpc: >:(

I know! I keep trying to explain to my family who haven't been there in almost 40 years, that it has changed and 5 days at the parks is nice but not nearly enough time. They wonder why I am doing all this planning. I can't wait to see everyone's face when we walk up to MK and they see how huge it is!

I love love love to hear these stories! I laughed when I read the part about not pushing...my abs were sooo sore the next day from all the effort I tried in NOT pushing. But when that baby is ready there's no stopping things!

I live in PA, so I just figured that was the closest warehouse to me. This gives new meaning to "snail mail" though. DH said they should've been delivered to us via Dumbo. :P

At this rate my MB decals might get here first! Those MBs have 20 days to get here from York, so I'm not worried yet.

Is anyone using the 6 months 0% APR on their Disney Visa?
If so, does it automatically apply, or do you have to call in???
