Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I have to go google this lego castle now....

I wasn't in the market for spending over $300 on Legos but I've always wanted a castle replica so this seemed like the most fun and cost effective way to go about it. It is BIG but once we make room will be a fabulous addition to our Disney room

Be careful; you might get pulled into the hype. I originally read about it here on disboards. I looked at it out of curiousity & thought "Who would pay that much for legos?!" I saw it was sold out everywhere & read a review or two. People said to keep checking back for restocks & I got pulled into the challenge. (Reminds me of the ADR stalking I had to do.) When I saw it back in stock early one morning (and with a "free" lego advent calendar) I jumped.

Sorry for posting "off topic." But maybe not 100% off topic, because I was considering looking for it at Disney Springs while on our November Disney vacay if it hadn't popped back in stock online.

I love puzzles, and that castle looks amazing, but man the price! I'm sure it was cheaper at first, but now all the resellers have it on ebay for $500 and up.

I just stalked Disney store & lego store. They list it at retail price & sometimes have coupon codes for an extra discount. No reason to pay the ebay/amazon inflated prices. Stalking is half the fun anyway (insert winky face emoji.)

We originally bought 2 because I paid full price on Lego site then found out you could use your Disney card and get 15% off if you bought it at the Disney store online. I wanted to keep one to sell...but I just feel bad price gouging people so we sent it back. Looking back, could've paid for our dessert party!


Same with the Coach Disney ear bag. I bought it, didn't love it, it was selling for crazy on ebay, couldn't justify going through the hassle of selling it. I guess this is why we aren't rich

If anyone reading this thread is coming down the week of Thanksgiving & staying through the week after, I've been stalking the hours & they just extended them for AK and HS the week of Thanksgiving. Having to update my vacay spreadsheet often today. (Glad I happen to have the day off from work today; it's been eventful on the Disney planning front)

Where?? I still see 7pm closure for HS & AK on MDE for week after Thanksgiving...

I am SO SORRY!!! I was refereing to the week of Thanksgiving & just posting in case anyone on this thread had a trip that spanned across the week of Thanksgiving in addition to the week after! Maybe I should not have posted about it here. I am very sorry. Should I delete my original post?

Oh no, that's fine. I just didn't realize you meant only Thanksgiving week. I'm now very anxious though to see if they keep the hours the same for the week after or if they move them later.

DHS closed at 7PM the week after Thanksgiving when they had Osbourne lights so I think those hours are sticking. The only one that will get bumped probably will be the 26th since it shows 9PM fireworks. I'm going to shoot for that night and hope other people are seeing Wishes since it's a non MVMCP night.

Me too I told my DH I was ditching him and the kids at HS on the 27th to go ride this before it closes. Too much hassle but soooo tempting since DH A and kids didn't care for it anyway!

If you're speculating based on the week of Thanksgiving, they extened HS closing by 2 hours or more & AK closing by 30 minutes today *for the week of thanksgiving

Wish we could do the late EMH at DHS on Nov 25, but we have to be up and at AKL for the Sense of Africa tour by 6:45am Saturday morning. I love the parks late at night.

Disappointed they have only extended AK hours till 7:30pm so far and no movement on MK hours.
