Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

The people arguing over what a direct hit is on the hurricane thread is killing me! I'm so slow at work I'm embarrassed to say I've read the whole thing. 51 days!! I'm heading to hobby lobby in a few to get some fabric to make my ds's shirt for hoopty doo. I need something to do to pas these days that doesn't include shopping

Work today is really cramping my Disney side...boo work. Boo.

Agreed! But today is my first telecommuting day in a few years since they took the program away and now brought it back. So I have the Disney Pandora station on my TV and now I can sing along without the funny looks like when I'm in the office humming with my headphones on. :music:

Ha I was thinking the same thing!

I can't tear myself away from that hurricane thread either.

Is anyone making/has made a countdown calendar? I was thinking about doing something super simple, I have a small Mickey head paper punch and maybe just stick a bunch of numbers to poster board. I also need to work on a binder for the pins the kids don't want to trade - I picked up a zipper binder and some cross stitch canvas so nothing fancy.

We made a chain to countdown. It's getting short!

I think I'm going to do the printable that you frame and write on the glass with a dry erase marker that looks simple enough :) Pinterest has a ton of ideas

I've been reading that thread also, work was slow so it helped make the day go by faster. I just can't imagine not planning ahead for food, everyone has know it was coming. And with the grocery delivery services, Amazon and Uber, no reason to not have food. But maybe I just like to be overly prepared.

I have a small square chalkboard at work that has a countdown, since we have cubicles everyone can see it and they always make mention of how many days are left. My Husband works there also, so everyone is waiting for pictures of him with Mickey ears or with characters. :rotfl: I'm thinking some may need to leak out....

I found so Disney Christmas clip art, put into work doc & then printed 4 pages to a sheet. Let DD write her numbers on them. Practice writing and then daily work on recognition of numbers. I am digging the princess chain countdowns too. May work on those this weekend.

I am in the mist of planning my daughter's 5th birthday - She's a total princess, but wants a Star Wars themed party. So hunting down a lego Princess Leia for a cake topper is becoming a hard task. Anyone have one or know where i can get it. Ive seen one on amazon but it's like 25 bucks. They cake wasnt 25 bucks itself.

Have you tried eBay?

Are you looking for a regular small minifigure? Or do you need something bigger? And in the white outfit from Episode IV or...?

I see this one on Etsy, it's a custom and the shipping is ridiculous from Canada but it's cheaper than $25 - https://www.etsy.com/listing/399136...9B2ErxV188Y8HYs_l1Fj3fmPr7p3o2mC96hoC9anw_wcB

My project this weekend (while I'm at work:rolleyes1:bored: if we're not busy ;) ) is to figure out how to decorate our CBR window. I know I want lights and Mickey heads that you can buy on eBay, but I'm not sure how to get it all set up. I'm not very creative, LOL.

I've been stalking the window decorating thread for a few weeks now. :D

I don't have a chance to be on a computer while I'm at work - some days you guys are hard to keep up with!!

So I'm looking back at the past posts - I guess I am insane. We are flying in later on Friday so I am scheduled for a day at the parks on Saturday. We have our FPs for that day at Epcot and we are eating at Chef de France for dinner. I'm hoping to visit in the morning, head back to the hotel mid-afternoon (hoping we don't have to switch rooms since we added a room only res. at the beginning) and then end with dinner and Illuminations. We have a few other days planned to visit Epcot so I'm not real stressed if we don't see a ton.

As for the countdown, I just have one on my phone (and my kids added them to their tablets). I'm pretty sure everyone in our house knows the countdown days except DH. He isn't quite as excited as the ladies are in our house.

That's what we've done the past couple years! We started this year's countdown at 200ish. Good math practice, right? :)
