Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I ordered my sweatshirt! On my kids first trip they all wore Disney shirts every day, all bought by their grandma who funded the whole trip! But there were only 3 kids back then. Perhaps if I could find one or 2 each for $3 or less I might splurge on it! No Mickey for DH...maybe Star Wars. Hoping after this trip he will be a true Mouse fan.

I want a pic by the Christmas Tree at MK. Where is it exactly?

I think they don't put the tree up until after they do the Christmas parade taping for tv. Traditionally, that taping happens the week after Thanksgiving/first week of December. Last year it happened in November. We haven't found out yet when it'll happen this year. So you might or might not be able to get your picture. :confused3

It was up before parade taping last year :)

Really? I thought they needed the space for the cameras and such. If so though, that's awesome!

Yup, we were there the week of taping, and it was definitely up! I wonder if they changed camera angles? May have been the exception to the norm, so we shall see this year.

You were there last November? Have we already discussed this? Probably a million times. :P What was MK like on parade days? Or did you just avoid it all?

Mornings were great. Didn't get crowded until lunchtime. We were on our way out the day of the parade taping, but Main Street was packed with people holding their spots. The area around the castle was full since they needed people in that area for the singers.

I think I remember hearing something about this last year...they surprised everyone by having the tree up early!

Fall has begun here - its 50s at night and only hit 70 today. Woo!

The kids both wore Disney shirts every day last trip. They probably will again, and now if it's cool enough at night I can too :)
It's the same here! It was 55 just now and it will be a high of 65 this afternoon. I'm actually hoping it would be a little cooler in December since I bought DS2 a bunch of cute sweaters already :rotfl:

I was just gonna ask about whether anyone else wears Disney-themed clothes each park day! BFF is trying to coordinate this for her family; me, I've got a Beauty & the Beast tank and a Mouseketeer shirt so far. Debating whether to keep going. Torn between looking 'Disney' and wearing the most flattering and/or comfy clothes I own.

We do not do special Disney clothes. It's not really in the budget. We have a few Star Wars shirts and dd7 (almost 8) has some Frozen ones. :)

It's still summer here! 90 today, ugh!

I've been stocking up on Disney attire too! I've told DH he has no choice but to wear the Mickey tee I got him on the first day. So we each are doing Mickey one day and then just the kids have special shirts for the rest of the days. I have Hakuna Matata shirts for the kids on AK day, Big Hero 6 for Epcot day (Baymax is one of their favorite characters), Star Wars shirts for HS day, Olaf shirts for another day, and will probably pick one more set before the trip.

I'm also trying to decide what I want them to wear for the H&V holiday dine. Can't decide if I want cute holiday wear or more of a Disney holiday shirt.

Well, I have to confess, MOST of my clothes have a mouse on them in some way...at least the casual ones like tee shirts...

After the trips we have taken, (and the times I have had trouble getting everything packed for the return flight!) it's pretty easy to me to wear a different Disney shirt every day of our vacation...

I hope he is successful! I had to schedule our trip around deer season. Hoping DH has a successful season otherwise Disney is going to be miserable for us! ;)

He got 2 prior to our trip last year. He was stalking a monster that had been eluding him. Of course on our trip someone got the beast. DH was most unhappy. All in all it was a successful season for him though. We're just using up the last of our venison in time for this years season. He only saw squirrels this morning. We just bought a small farm with 3x as much land. Once we sell our current home we will move to the farm. Unfortunately the person that had permission to hunt either doesn't care or was never informed of the sale of the property. Despite that the sold sign still at the road. We spent last evening nailing no trespassing/no hunting signs up all over the property. We found stands and salt blocks. Its gonna be a fight to keep people off until we actually move there. Next move putting up 2 gates and barbed wire.

We went the last 2 Septembers but we would take breaks during the heat of the day. I'm really hoping the temps during this trip will help my kids' stamina and they will have fewer meltdowns. One can hope...
The weather was so nice last year. I drizzled our Epcot day for about 2 min, mixed overcast to sunny. AK day was cooler. I wore a super thin sweatshirt and shorts. DD asked for her sweatshirt on Safari, DH could wear shorts and t-shirt all year round. It rained our MK Wednesday last year. Luckily it was during her nap and when we were inside BoG at dinner. Otherwise it was perfect weather. Hoping for the same this year! We don't have meltdowns. She has had maybe 1 or 2 ever. She learned really quick that we don't respond to meltdowns. She does however get hyper when she's tired. She's gotten on a kick lately that she doesn't want to nap. Always has quiet time in her room though. If she doesn't nap she goest to be about 30-45m earlier. I'm worried slightly about the nap situation. My gut is that with all the stimulation that she will actually crash. Otherwise it will be early nights for us. I still have no faith in a stroller nap though.

We have ADR for Narcoossee's Friday night of our trip (day after Thanksgiving), California Grill Saturday, Flying Fish Monday and Wave Wednesday. I don't feel that I need to keep all of them due to $$$. We are staying at Beach Club so almost tempted to try YS. I feel like I need to choose b/w either Narcoossee's or CG for watching Wishes at dinner. Then either YS or FF for the other. DH has made it clear he wants to go back to Wave so that one is to keep the DH happy since he's not a fan of Disney anyways. lol

Thoughts?

Our local walmart had tons of men's graphic tshirts marked down to $3.00. Some Mickey Mouse, Star Wars and marvel shirts were mixed in. YMMV

I got a cool Star Wars shirt there on clearance a few months ago. It's bigger than I like being a mens, but I roll the sleeves up a little :)

I need to go check again :)
