Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Is it pretty much a given if you have a PPO BOG and you get done eating early enough you will be able to ride 7DMT? It's an EMM day if that makes a difference.

What about a PPO BBB, do they drop the rope early enough to beat the crowd? Our BBB reservation isn't until 8:15, I suppose if we're standing at that rope past the castle and we make a beeline to something we should be able to find at least one short ride.

Last time I got in trouble because we were waiting at that internal rope (I don't remember if it was even a rope, might have just been some CMs standing there and telling us not to go) after DD's BBB, right between the castle and the carousel, and my 2-year-old bolted towards Fantasyland before it was time. The CMs were not happy, lol. I tried to dash after him and slipped in a puddle of water, right on my butt. Good times.

We got on 7dmt last year before the crowds on 2 separate days. Curious to see if emm affects that...

WRT EMM and 7DMT, I've heard the PPO BOG people usually get in line ahead of the rope drop people but only get on the first train at rope drop on EMM mornings. Sometimes on non-EMM mornings PPO BOG people get a couple rides before the rope droppers arrive.

I don't know about all of you, but my Touringplans reservation finder has been working great this week! I'm not having great luck with the times it is finding for me, but I've been alerted to ADR's a few times and had no trouble hopping on Disney to get them booked.

Ugh, I wish I could switch my BOG and BBB days. Wonder if it's even worth keeping the PPO BOG, I'll have to mull it over.

My ds14 (at the time) told me under NO circumstances was I allowed to take his little brother and sister on that ride after he had ridden it! lol I plan to ride it this time to evaluate for myself if I think it would be too scary for them, but until I get a chance to do that, they won't be riding it.

My son was 6 when we rode it last year and he said it was just TOO LOUD. He says he wasn't scared (and honestly it's so dark I couldn't gauge his reaction very well). He opted not to retire with DH using the swap pass.

It's loud and dark with jumpy stuff - I don't think the Dino's themselves are super scary but the strobes and loudness and the stress of the "WILL WE MAKE IT BACK" storyline add to the fear factor. I enjoyed it :)

Same! It's working great again, I've gotten several alerts for times I was trying to change a little. Woo!!

FEA for sure! And you'll be lucky to get it around 12:30 since fastpasses for FEA don't even begin until 11 (ride is standby only from 9-11).
That's good to know -- thanks! I'm an early FP planner, so I'll have to readjust that one.

How old were little brother & sister at the time?

After booking FEA and 7DMT, are there any other priorities when booking?

Perhaps TSMM if you want a certain time for it. Besides that I would say anything with a low capacity like Enchanted Tales with Belle, princess and other character meets, etc that you want a certain time for.

One of my boys rode it when he was 4, then again when he was 5 along with my other 4 year old son. DH rode it with them. Perhaps you can watch it on YouTube?

We just re-discovered last week that our TV can stream YouTube so we have had a lot of family fun watching Disney ride and show videos. (With the exception of FEA, I want this one to be a surprise!) I'm hoping it helps the kids get excited and realize how special it is to go to Disney. Last year on our drive home we stopped at a rest stop with a playground and I think that was one of the highlights for them of the whole trip! Needless to say I was a little bummed. Our first trip in 2014 was great because they didn't really know what to expect so everything was amazing and they went with the flow. But in 2015 they did know what to expect and kept demanding to ride certain rides NOW! So this year I'm going to prep them ahead of time with our touring plan for the day and hope that helps. We are leaving our last MK day pretty open so we can repeat what they decide (AM EMH on 12/2). But children can be so unpredictable so who knows!

I have some hefty weight loss goals before the trip and my recent surgery was a setback! I'm hesitant to order anything yet.
