Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I opened a card based on my husbands referral and my mother did as well. We both received our $200 Gift cards but only one of the $50 reward bonuses showed up in husbands account, so we're waiting to see if it hits next statement. But that was a nice way to chop $500 off the cost of our trip plus all the rewards points!

Did the rewards show up when the statement posted?

Yes, on the regular statement it had a separate line in the rewards section for referral bonus and showed the 50 points. I'm hoping the next statement has the other 50.

Well after having a stomach bug for the past few days, I was able to spend some time when I had better moments to dedicate to planning. I'm finally getting in the swing of things and have a rough outline of which parks on which days AND I called the tour line and booked the Wild Africa Trek for the morning of 11/29. It was my first time calling and the CM was so nice! I was really only calling to ask if there was availability but just went ahead and booked it. He also got my Memory Maker ordered and I purchased the MVMCP tickets for 11/27. I figured what the heck since I was already on the phone with him. Poor guy, I hadn't yet merged all my gift cards so I had to give him a bunch of gift card numbers. Still no ADRs, but I'm finally getting somewhere. I even got my husband to sit down and be involved for a while.

Thanks. I've had the reservation finder set for HDDR for a while now, but nothing good. It won't be the end of the world if we don't get that though.

I just made a list of all the dining options in each park the other day (also all the attractions and shows) and I've started ranking them to help identify our must dos, want to dos, and we can do withouts. So I should have a better idea when I'm done with that where we should try for ADRs. We aren't trying for anything PPO our popular character dining, so I think we will be OK with what is available or setting up the reservation finder.

I hope so! It took me so long to pick parks for days because I kept thinking I was planning too many early mornings and late nights and not being realistic. I think it's a decent balance now, with some park hopping. I'm not following the typical planning protocol by scheduling my extra magic stuff first, am I? Haha.

Has anyone watched wishes from outside the MK?? I'm tempted to try and find a spot to watch them on a party night but the logistics of getting to one of the MK resorts from a value makes it a pretty big pain. Wondering if the view from Poly beach is even worth all the hassle?

Last trip we didn't see anything at night besides fantasmic, even the night DS and I hopped to MK he made me miss wishes in favor of riding Space. But dangit I WILL see fireworks this time!

We watched Wishes from Narcooses on our honeymoon 10 years ago. I remember it being a pleasant experience as they pipe in the audio.

Yes good point. My last 3 park days are looking more leisurely. And then our departure day we have a late evening flight home and it isn't scheduled as a park day. Most likely we will roam around disney springs.

I have a 3:30 PM T Rex reservation that I was hoping to move to later but kept forgetting to call the restaurant. Just did it and all times were booked from 4:15 - 7:45 Darnit! I should have called the day I made my ADRs I suppose.

oh well a 4pm dinner will be fine with kids. Saturday night in Disney springs the Saturday after Thanksgiving is sure to be a nightmare anyway so it's better to get out of there early.

Been having stomach pains off and on for 5 days now and figured it was time to go get it checked out, but the surgeon seems pretty unconvinced that the appendix is the culprit. And go figure the pain stopped when I drove to the ER.

So I have a private room, a tiny tv, and my laptop with all my Disney stuff on it. Might as well make some use of it I guess! Poor husband has to take care of all the farm chores himself. I guess I should say poor animals! haha.

Do y'all have a favorite autograph book for the kiddos? I can't decide what I think about the ones with the photo pockets. I'm sooo bad about getting prints made of pics I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to add the pics to the books.

We have taken the character encyclopedia the last 2 years. We are taking that again along with a standard autograph book.

Thanks everyone. I had a terrible night. Only got 1 ADR made before the pain interrupted and was very severe the rest of the night. I'm fine now. Sounds like they are leaning towards taking the appendix out today, but they are still unsure that's what it is! Oy!

Oh man, that's awful! Have they done a scope? CT scan? Those appendixes can be tricky to pinpoint, but the removal is pretty simple and should have you up and going fairly quickly. Hope they find the answers!
