How's weather/crowds/etc the week after Thanksgiving? We were looking to do Christmas Party this year and originally looked at mid-November. But due to conflict, may have to move until the Tues or Wed after Thanksgiving.

Please help. We've gone in September and January - no crowds.

We have flown down on Thanksgiving and the day after a few times. We avoid the Magic Kingdom until the Sunday after, which is OK, but not great. Later in the week, it's much better as far as crowds go.

You never know about the weather until close to the time, just keep checking the national weather or the weather channel. sometimes we can go in shorts, other-we need pants and sweatshirts. For us, since the holiday decorations are up, it's a great time to go.

We flew down the day after Thanksgiving in 2005 and went into the parks on Sunday (AK) for our first day. We experienced LOW crowds the whole week. It was great and walked on to most rides with no waits. Sometimes we didnt even have to get off the rides because no one was waiting to get on. It did get heavy at EPCOT on Friday, 12/3 and I am guessing that was partly due to Pop Warner kids coming in. Other than that it was great and a great week to go. We experienced all kinds of weather on that trip. It was in mid to upper 70's at first, then got cooler and we wore pants and short sleeve shirts, then the last couple of days needed sweatshirts too.
On our trip this past Dec. (16-23) we actually had warmer weather then in the previous Nov trip. We were never out of shorts and didnt need jackets- even at night.
We did the MVMCP both trips and loved it. I would suggest going during the week. Less locals then.

So how bad is Pop Warner week? Is it all week? We would go Wednesday after Thanksgiving and leave on Monday or Tuesday. November 28-December 3/4

We were there the week after Thanksgving last year (Sunday to Sunday). Monday was still a little crowded, but not bad. The following Saturday night at MK was a nightmare - wall to wall people in Tomorrowland!

Also, it rained Tuesday night (the night of our CP dinner pkg :() and almost all day Wednesday. And it was HOT!!!! (Mid 80s and a lot more humid than I expected). I was stunned since I thought it would cool off at night, but I never needed a jacket or long pants once. That being said, Thanksgiving week they had a couple of days in the low 60's so you truly don't know until you get there. Pack for both types of weather and expect to bring home some clothing that you never wore.

Still, nothing beats Walt Disney World at Christmastime! :santa:

We'll be there Sunday Nov. 25-Saturday Dec. 1! :woohoo: Have my MVMCP tickets :santa: for Tuesday Nov. 27 (like most everyone else going that week). We chose that time frame because of value season, Christmas season and my sons 6 th birthday on Monday Nov. 26th! Even if it is busier than normal (there are threads that ask all about that week, like who's going-quite a lot it seems) hey, it's still WDW! Just have a plan ;)

We'll be there the same exact time and going to MVMCP on 11/27! We've been in June, October and September. I'm hoping for low crowds during this time, but I'll prepare myself for them!

Last year was the first time we traveled the week after Thanksgiving and we thought it was great. We were in MK on the Sunday after and thought the crowds were fine. The rest of the week just got better and better. It did rain on Tuesday for MVMCP but that didn't bother us. We rode tons of rides that night and saw most of the shows. By Wednesday and Thursday we were walking on everything.

It got a little more crowded on Friday, but by then we felt pretty spoiled by the crowds the previous days and took it in stride. We liked going this time of year so much that we're going again this year, but heading down on Thanksgiving day. We'll enjoy ourselves by relaxing the first three days and then hit the parks like we did last year starting on Sunday.

As everyone has mentioned, the weather is a total crap shoot. We had friends who were there the week of Thanksgiving last year and it was freezing to them, so you never know. We packed for everything and we were fine.

The week after Thanksgiving is a great time to go. The decorations are up, you're just a few weeks from Christmas, and everyone is in great spirits. If our trip this year is half as fun as last years then we'll figure we got our money's worth and then some.

Good luck!
