Hi DIS experts,
We had planned to be at WDW from the 3rd to the 9th of May, hoping to squeeze in between spring break and school's out crowds, but I was just notified that I will be recieving a teaching award (yay!), and the ceremony will be May 5th  .

We could possibly go April 21 through the 26th (after which is our Disney Cruise), but I am worried that we will run into post-Easter crowds. Anybody know if this week will be unbearably crowded???

Thanks guys!!!

That is not the "post-Easter" crowd; it is the Easter crowd. That week , the week before, and Christmas week are the most crowded weeks of the year; about 3 to 4 times the crowd you would see in that May week. The worst days will be April 21 through 24 particularly at MK where popular rides will get sustained (all day, all night) lines of 2 hours or more; even Swiss Family Treehouse, the most lame attraction at MK, gets one hour lines most of the day. Crowd will decrease a little April 25 and then start to decrease substantially April 26.

Are the other parks just as unbearable? If so, guess we will be spending a lot of time by the pool. Good thing we have been here many times before! Do you know if the parks will be open late, like they are in the summer and other busy times?

Bummer-- that's what I suspected. I think I'll stick with our original plan. Thanks.
