Hello-

I have been hearing a lot about October being fairly busy but everything I have read talks about early October or the last week of October.

Can anyone tell me how the week after columbus day is. Meaning that Columbus day is on Monday, Oct. 11 but we won't be going until the following week (Tuesday the 19th - 24th)

Has anyone gone that week in the past? If so what were the crowds like?

Thanks in advance :wave2:

That week is our favorite week to go in October. We were there that week last year. We didn't think crowds were bad at all. In the afternoon, some of the "big" rides sometimes had long waits (45-60 min), but we just used fastpass if the wait was too long. We also rode lots of stuff with very short waits (15 min or less), especially in the mornings.

We did EE once (Sunday at MK) and avoided EE parks on their EE day the rest of the time. We also used fastpass as much as possible.

October is a very popular time now so there probably will be longer lines sometimes, especially for the more popular attractions, but I would think the crowds will be managable, and with good use of fastpass, I would think you'll be able to do everything you want.

Have a great trip!

I am hoping that because it is the week after a holiday and Halloween is right around the corner that it won't be as crowded as the rest of the month. :genie:

We did that week last year and really seemed to get through the parks pretty easily. I think we rode Space Mt 5 times one day with a max. 25 min wait. Splash was 15-20 min at the most. MGM seemed to be most crowded-especially around TOT (it was half down for renovation)with 45-55 min standby waits. We got to Epcot at rope drop and rode MS twice with no wait and TT next with fastpass. AK was easily navigated with careful planning-only waited 10 -15 min for shows, and no waits for rides(fastpass for safari). All in all this was a perfect week with beautiful 80 degree days, only one afternoon of drizzle, and minimal crowds--You'll love it!!!
