Hello! I am trying to decide about booking a Christmas trip. Meaning fly in on Christmas Day and come home on the 30th. This would be for my family of 7 (husband and kids ages 19, 16, 13, 11 and 7). We have done many Disney World and Disneyland trips (at least twice a year for the past several years), but never this week. I understand it will be insanely crowded. My question is if we are able to get genie plus, will we be able to stack rides and go late afternoon? Or do they run out quickly due to the amount of people using genie plus each day? And if we have a reservation can we for sure get in? Meaning they wouldn’t close to capacity for us if we have a reservation? Thanks for any advice. Just can’t decide if we should do it or not. We have always wanted to but hear nightmare stories.

We went last Christmas week and we were able to get Genie + every day, but we did not stack rides. We rope dropped every day. I was amazed how we were able to modify and refresh and get better return times. Even for rides that didn’t have any ride times left. While I was standing in line I would just modify and refresh a lot and would eventually get something better. This does drain your phone battery, but I brought and extra charger. I know this doesn’t answer your stacking ride question, but even if rides are booked you might be able to find times.

Thanks so much! Unfortunately I know my teens won’t want to rope drop so I was gonna try the stacking strategy. Did you enjoy the week overall? People are so negative about it!

We had so much fun we are going back thanksgiving week this year. I actually wanted to do Christmas week again, but wife and kids did not want to spend Christmas Day at Disney world again, so we are spending a different holiday there lol. It was busy but with genie + we rode everything we wanted to. I guess we just hoped for the best and planned for the worst and it wasn’t as busy as we thought it would be. To compare, In 2017 we went over Labor Day weekend and Saturday at MK was super packed and much busier than our MK days over Christmas week.

We've only gone 3 times during that infamous week, with the last trip being last year. Agreed with PP above that 2022 was the more enjoyable trip. With all that said, we're seriously never going back during that week again.
