I won't bore you just now with travel or flight stuff, except to say my sinuses held up !!!
PHEW !!!!

This was our first time flying in Orlando international and it was sooo smooth.
Obviously doing customs in Dublin helped but I think we were in our hotel 90 mins after landing.

And the hotel...WOW...just...WOW.
we are staying at AKL
this was not my choice , I'm not an animal lover and I had always said it held nothing for me.
Wilderness Lodge was my dream resort, we stayed there a few years ago and loved it.
Well...whisper it but I have a new love.
This place is AWESOME !!!
We had never visited to eat so the walk in the lobby was new to us, and with the biggest Christmas tree added it is a breath taking sight.
Our room is just a standard so the nice man at reception took time to show us were to go around the hotel to see the animals.
He shouldn't have bothered.
First mornin e opened the curtains to a herd of giraffes right out side !!!
Now remember I said I wasn't an animal lover?
Haha...it was the coolest thing ever, I was jumping around like a bairn on Christmas morning.
Nothing like seeing a giraffe outside your window in the morning to remind you how incredible Disney is.

The weather is perfect, is beautiful and warm.
We are in shorts and t-shirts but have taken hoodies with us to the parks but haven't needed them.
Not for outdoors anyways, I get cold when we go to eat so having them had been perfect.
The parks have been a wee bit busier than I expected.
Probably on par with October so still nice.
The most we have waited is 50 mins for Ariel, but that's no big surprise.
It was so good tho the wait was worth it.

Ok, my wee live report is longer than I meant but the jetlag is kickin ma bahookie.
I haven't slept past 5.30 any morning so I have time while others sleep.

I will give them an another hour then its up for Universal and T-REX for dinner.
:)
I will pop back if anyone is interested, have a nice day y'all.

Great start.
There are some things I liked about AKL, some I didn't. Beds were not as comfy as I like, I still prefer OKW but can't deny opening the curtains to giraffes is amazing.

Glad to hear your sinuses held up and you love AKL. We had a meal at Sanaa in Aug & had a window seat, I'm not an animal lover either but just loved watching them. Hope to stay there one day. Did you get an upgrade to Savannah view?

Hope you are having a great day :cool1:

wow Scottslass it sounds amazing!!!
wayne g you pic are gorgeous!
my sis has dvc at AKL and im hoping she lets us use some points soon! ;)

We have only ever visited AKL to go to the restaurants but I loved the look and feel of the place.
Very jealous of you waking up to giraffes. Great photo Wayne :)

No up grade, the giraffes and the big things with horns ( told you I wasn't an animal person :rotfl: ) seem to pass our cheap seats in the morning on there way to the big show.
Just a really lucky room I guess

Universal yesterday was great.
All rides were walk ons, even The Simpsons and RRR.
And Despicable Me was brilliant, I remembered 2 days before we left that we had never seen the film so I got a friend's copy and we watched the night before we left.
I'm so glad we did because it obviously made ride better.
The weather is still tremendous, I did not think we would be lettin the bairns loose in the Curious George water park in December !!!

T-Rex and a wander round DTD finished off an other great day.

sounds like your having a blast, hope the weather stays good for us coming out next week :)

Great to hear about the lucky room. We enjoyed Despicable Me, but hadn't seen the film (bought it for myself for christmas), I agree that it must be better if you know the story. Sounds like you are having a great time. Thanks for the updates, next best thing to been there myself.

We now have zebras !!!

After the first couple of days being busier than expected the parks have died.
Epcot was walk on but for Test Track.
I forgot this had been re- themed so was susprised at the line.
We just did the single rider (it always surprises me more people dont ) and got on in minutes.
The new thème is great and the bairns loves the new i.interactive stuff, big thumbs up from us.

We hit Busch yesterday, it was the usual fun.
The new cheeta ride was AWESOME !!!
The weather is holdin up too, just à wee bit cooler at night.

Oh, the only blip so far has been my Hoop dee doo ressie for tonight cant be found !!!
I dont know why but I just went to check it yesterday and nothing.
Its fully booked every day so no hoop dee doo for me...:headache:

We do single riders on everything possible. :thumbsup2

Shame about Hoop, keep trying you might get in.
