Actually, it's an ongoing saga. The short story is that my truck has been in the shop 5 times in the last 2 weeks for the same issue. They replace different parts each time, drive it for a day, and say it's ready to get picked up. I pick it up, drive a half mile, and the light comes on again!!!!! They take another look and find something else broken. Replace a new part, drive it for a day, and less than a mile after I pick it up, the light is on yet again!
They are no longer charging me for the rest of the repairs for this issue, since they have failed to fix it so far, plus the inconvenience I've had of going back and forth to the shop. This repair shop has been really good to us over the last 7 years and we actually trust them to do a good job for a fair price.
Kevin, check the gas cap. If you Google "check engine light" for your car you will probably find some information about the seal of the gas cap not being tight. Very common problem but always the last thing checked.

Unfortunately, that was replaced during the second trip last week. I'll have them check that again, because maybe the new one doesn't seal like it should. Thanks!
