Has anyone used this service or know anyone that has? I don't think I would get a videographer for our wedding because I honestly can't see us watching it ever, but this option seems affordable, fun, and different. I would rather see the wedding from the views of friends and family.

I'm thinking about using it! I can't see paying a ton for a videographer, so this seems like a good way to go. Plus, it might be fun for the guests

I'm actually thinking of going with StoryMix. They have a lot more options available with prices that are lower than WedIt and they can also do "themed" videos. Wedit only seems to have those 2 packages. 1 with editing and 1 without.

Hi. Please forgive my ignorance, but what is a wedit video?

Is a website wedit.com that you can hire to compile footage from your wedding. They send you five point and roll digital cameras that you give to people to film your day. Afterwards send it back to wedit and they edit the footage together. It's like $500ish so much much cheaper than a videographer.
It's funny that this thread just popped up. I was checking it out yesterday as an option.

Both companies sound great! I was going to skip video, too, but this might work! Does anyone know how much Wedit charges to edit a short (~3min) video like they have up on their website?

I emailed Wedit and they told me the $500 fee only covers the use of the cameras. Any additional editing costs more. I asked how much it would be for them to edit a short like they featured on their website and got the following responce:

"The videos on our website took advantage of the editing services we offer in addition to the standard camera rental package. We have two options for edited videos: the first is an additional $299 and includes a highlight reel (like the samples on the website) and the second is an additional $349 and includes a highlight reel and a 30-60 minute full length video."

Thanks Museofire!
