Hi Guys,

I've just booked our Walt Disney World wedding at Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian for August 20th.

My question, has anyone else got married at Walt Disney World and, if so, do they have any suggestions to make this magical event even more magical!!

Thanks,
Andy

First, many congratulations on your special news!

How absolutely wonderful.

You will probably get a better response if you post on the Weddings Board as well :) :)

I think your venue would be extremely special.

Best wishes,

Karen

Fantasia Sam got married at Disney a little while back - check out the Weddings board for info and tips etc.

Congratulations!!!! We got married at the wedding Pavillion a few years ago and it was fantastic! How about having some of your favorite characters or arrive in the Cinderella coach!! There are some many options to choose from - you will find lots of ideas on the wedding boards :cheer2:

Congratulations :) We got married at Sunset Pointe in 2000 :) A lovely day it was to.

How many are travelling with you? Do you have any plans for dinner etc.

Definately check out the Weddings Board :)

Not too sure about the numbers yet but won't be more than 10. Where did you go for your reception? As ours is an 11.00am wedding everywhere seems to be closed at lunchtime!

Thanks,
Andy

Our wedding was at 3pm. We had about 6 family members with us. After the wedding we went to Mizners Lounge at the Grand Floridian for drinkies with family, there was a band outside playing lovely tunes in the lobby.

For our dinner it was just us and we dined at Victoria and Alberts again at the Grand Floridian.

Are you looking for somewhere to dine around the Magic Kingdom area?

Kaylee,
Yes, we are looking for somewhere to have our reception after the ceremony. We were planning to all go on the Illuminations Cruise in the evening.

Any suggestions will be greatly received!
Andy

For a lunch time thing I am at a loss as to what to suggest. You could just have your cake and champagne then and then if you are going to do an Illuminations Cruise pick to have dinner together at one of the wonderful restaurants at the Boardwalk or Y&B Club :) Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is lovely :)

What are you planning on doing between your wedding and Illuminations?

We were going to have a couple of hours back in the hotel relaxing after the reception and before the cruise.

But now not too sure!

Andy

Are you having the cake and champagne reception or a special event at one of the hotels then?

Well, we're not too sure. We really wanted to have a nice sit down meal after the ceremony & cake cutting but, as we now know, no where seems to be open at around 1.00pm.

Andy

Having said all that, do you know if the Poly/GF would allow us to have a special meal for just 10 people?

Thanks for all your help!
Andy

It is certainly worth asking your wedding co-ordinator :) Have you checked on the weddings board to see what other couples have done?

I will certainly ask our Wedding Coordinator. I've posted on the Wedding Board asking this very question!

Thanks for all your help and I hope you don't mind me asking more questions!

Andy

congratulations!!! We are getting married in Celebration Hotel in a couple of weeks so when we get back I should be able to give you lots of tips!!!
Our wedding co-ordinator has been great, it is difficult to organise a wedding by e-mail!! We have found everyone really helpful over there!
