I read on one thread about Disney opening up Coronado Springs as a wedding location but I also found this website:
http://www.rix-lounge.com/
about weddings in their lounge. It seems to me that you can do a wedding there and not go through DFTW. Am I understanding that correctly? Has anyone done or even heard of this? Thanks!

That would make a very cool reception venue for someone doing an escape or off property ceremony. Seems to be kind of like how you can rent out private rooms at the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin and the Wave.

ETA: just saw pictures of their ceremonies..so pretty! Since it's privately owned they can do it without DFTW. I like the spaces there more than some of the ceremony sites at the Swan/Dolphin. Are you considering having your wedding there?

i knew you could rent out space for a reception or cocktail hour with them--they sent me a package in the mail.... but i was unaware of the wedding option. it looks like you can definately get married there!

I'm not getting married any time soon but I want a Disney wedding, even if it can't be through DFTW so I like to keep updated on different options.

What a stunning location for a wedding reception!!! I visited CSR during our recent trip, for the first time and fell in love with it!! Very pretty and colourful!!

Randy took some pics of me at coronado springs in may before our ceremony and they came out great. beautiful colours. Have a look on his site if you fancy having a noisy. Leanne

Wow, I had no idea. When we initially started planning our VR we had hoped there was a way to have our VR @ CSR but it wasn't an option at the time. This is a really nice option!

Oh ya you can totally have your wedding here. I think they might even have pictures of weddings on their site. I am thinking of having our rehearsal dinner here. Its a great location. You can either rent out their private room or you can rent out the private room plus about half of the place I think. The only problem for me was that the place might be a little small. also keep in mind it has a club feel to it. Its a great option and would be way cheaper than a disney wedding.
