Wedding Songs

At this point, an Intimate wedding is the most affordable route to take. But I really wanted that first dance as Husband and Wife and the traditional Father/Daughter dance. Any suggestions?

dznystar,

You can dance during the cake cutting and toast after the ceremony. The violinist is included but you could add other instruments.

We are having an intimate also. We are going to dance with each other but we're not going to have the father/bride and mother/groom dance. We are having 18 guests and I guess that it will be a little weird dancing in front of so few people, but I don't care.

Good luck with all your planning!

Hi All,

Likewise having an intimate wedding also an was planning on dancing at the cake and champagne toast and can't afford anything more than the violinist but my coordinator asked that we pick the songs to the ceremony etc... We only have 15 guests attending and I think I will feel slightly silly but hey its my big day :)

My WP said that you can definitely dance at the Cake & Champagne with included musician. She said you can pick the song for them to learn and they will play it. Also she suggested if we wanted to have a specific song that couldn't nec. be played, to bring a cd player (batt opperated of course) so that we could have a special song if we didn't want it played by the musician. Well, just a thought! :)

We had an Intimate Wedding and we also had a flutist for our wedding with the violinist. I think it was around $400, but it really added a lot to the music. It was nice to also have the two musicians there and they were fantastic! My family really got to enjoy the music a lot more than I did! :goodvibes

Were having an itimate and were also dancing our first dance at the cake and champagne ceremony and the father/daughter dance, eventhough, were only having 10 guests in total since its at Sunset Pointe. Were providing the cd player and cd b/c the violinist doesn't have the music to this song and also we like the words to our song, "You and Me" by Lifehouse. :cloud9: :tinker: pixiedust:

I would like to have a string quartet for my ceremony... Anyone have that for their ceremony???? I love how that music sounds

I love that song! DF played it for me when he told me he was in love with me!

I think we've finally decided on an Intimate Wedding. And we definitely want ot do all of the traditional dances. However, we're also thinking about doing a larger reception for the Illuminations Dessert Party. When would you do all of the dances? Do you wait or do for only the few guests at your intimate? Any past brides have this problem?

I think I'm going to look into some beautiful violin music, but I'm still going to bring my CD player and a CD to play with music.

Does anyone know how long the cake cutting ceremony is (or the time limit) at Commander's Terrace for an intimate? :confused3

Good question. I'd like to know too. I never really thought about how long the intimate reception is.

aparently it only last around 15 - 20 mins but dont quote me on that. Can anyone who's already been married answer that for us?

The timing for your intimate "reception" will vary a bit depending on how long it takes for pictures, the length of your vows/ceremony, and if there is another ceremony after yours.

Generally speaking, it's anywhere from 15-20 minutes to maybe 45 minutes.

Consider that intimate ceremonies are scheduled about 2 hours apart, and it takes about 30 minutes to set up for each ceremony.

If your intimate is scheduled for 11 (and your photographer and WP will most likely meet you about 30 minutes before your wedding), your vows last until 11:30, that leaves you about an hour for the cake/champagne reception. But there will be pictures to be taken, a toast, the cake cutting, etc.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! Does anyone know what is the latest time they offer an Intimate wedding?

Again, I think it depends.

I've usually heard 5pm is the latest...but that could be dependent on location, time of year, if there is another wedding scheduled later, etc.

I believe I have heard of intimate brides having a wedding as late as 7pm, but that could have been something they just don't do anymore, or it could have been a "one time" thing, or I could be totally wrong! :rotfl:

Thanks. Either of those would work. I was just afraid that it was only morning and early afternoon.
