Wedding Reception

Hi could anyone please help me with deciding what to do for our reception.

We are getting married at the wedding pavillion (intimate) at 4pm 16th October 2006. We have 16 adults and 6 children. I have been told by my EM that it will be difficult for me to find somewhere is disney close to the wedding pavillon to cater for our party. I was hoping to hire one of the boats and have dinner on there and watch the fireworks. Does anyone know if this is possible for our party. If not any other suggestions would be grate.

Does Disney know that your party consists of 22 people? Does that include you and your groom? Just wondering because only 20 people are permitted for the intimate weddings and Disney has been very strict with that. If you haven't given your EM your guest count, you may want to check into that. You may be bumped up to a custom and then your reception will be easier to book.

The Grand I is the only boat I know that can cater a meal--however, your group is too large. The maximum for the Grand I is 13.

Maybe just use one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian or the Poly. They don't really have private rooms, but may set you up at a big table--but that won't give you the dancing, etc. of a reception.

We recently used the Grand I during our wedding and I will say 13 people is a lot to go on there comfortably. If they go inside the cabin, yes that would work. But as far as fireworks viewing, it would be rather difficult.

We're having our ceremony at WP and doing a "reception" at California Grill.. I wanted to do a cruise too but haven't been able to find anything for 1)the amount of people and 2)that would be able to serve a substantial meal.
