Wedding Present Problem..

I had a friend get an inexpensive set of 4 wine glasses and used the etching creme to pu tour intials. They looked amazing and I asked if she made them (she is super crafty) and she said it was made for less then $10!!1

I remember one of my aunts giving us a box with all sorts of sewing supplies, different coloured threads, needles etc. I thought well, this sure is different, but within a week I was using it for fixing something, and really appreciated it. I've thought of tht gift many times, and think of her warmly each time.

The parents of my flower girl, who flew across country to attend my wedding, gave us a nice set of beach towels. Dh & I used them many times over the years and always thought of them when we went to the beach or pool. I still have those towels 18 yrs later. :beach: They are good quality and still hold sentimental value.

I second the Shutterfly book if she's not already into them (if she is, she'll probably want to do it herself- I did because I'm a Shutterfly NUT). I also totally adore the "I do" and "me too" forks!! I need to use that sometime.

I know it's a lot of money to be in a wedding but it also doesn't take much money to give something with some thought in it either. Every single one of our attendants gave us gifts (all varied greatly in price from $200 to $40 or so) and we loved all of them. My favorite is a "special" plate that came with a marker - we're supposed to use it for special occasions and write on the back (or front) with the marker for what it was. I plan on us eating our 1 year anniversary cupcakes off it, and I plan on using it to announce to DH once I'm pregnant (or if that doesn't work out because I can't keep my mouth shut- we'll use it for telling some of our family members). We were married 10 months ago and I haven't used it yet but I keep thinking about it!!
