Wedding Planners. Did you use one for your wedding?

I had one, primarily b/c we got married on the beach so it was helpful to have a professional work out all the logistics, prepare plan B in case it rained, etc.

I don't think she was that expensive. Around $2500, and that also included having her there at the wedding and reception. (Don't recall if that also included chair rentals, etc, for the ceromony as we got that stuff from her too).

See, expensive is relative, our entire wedding cost $4000-that was for a reception for 200 people too. We had this great little Italian lady that did catering and she put on an amazing meal :thumbsup2

I still fail to see what the big deal is planning a wedding. I think all told I spent about 20 hours over the course of a year dealing with the "plans". I don't think there was such a thing as a wedding planner when we got married either. The only "glitch" for our wedding was that the flowers showed up 1/2 hour late--not anything even remotely major. Oh, and the blizzard that happened too-not much we could do about that but everyone still showed up and people STILL talk about how fun our wedding was all these years later.

No-but I do wish I had. Mostly for the wedding day aspects. My mother failed to begin the wedding favors until that morning and insisted they be done. She had been in town for 3 days and said they had/would been/be taken care of. I didn't want to be a bridezilla so I left it at that. Went on my wedding morning to pick her up for breakfast and she was there with the evidence.:rotfl2:

Plus, there was a logistics issue that I had to drop things off to the reception on the day of instead of ahead of time per the club's request.

I just felt quite rushed and felt it difficult to enjoy the anticipation.

I certainly hope and will pay for my dd's to have a wedding coordinator--at least for the day of the event so that it is someone else being paid to suffer the stress of making sure everything was in place.

Aside from that, my groom had bought a software for wedding planning and except for the rush of the day, our planning went extremely smoothly. Within the program was everything from our budget to our gues list to the ability to make table cards and keep track of gifts and thank yous. I found that to be a wise investment.

Again--I would hire someone on the day to help with any errant troubles or last minute details. But I did not find a need to have someone to plan my entire event. Our budget wasn't large enough that we could not handle that stuff ourselves.

Now if I had some grand affair--that would be different. Our wedding was $12K total inclusive of the honeymoon. Though honestly, I have no idea where all the money went.:scared1:

Nope :lmao: I don't think there WERE wedding planners back then!

Yep! My Disney planner was AWESOME! Then on the wedding day there was a team of about 4 people all on radios making sure everything went smoothly. I just showed up and enjoyed it, no stress at all!
