Wedding photos

What beautiful--and quite professional looking--photos. I love the little flower girl, and the selective coloring on the bouquet in the bubble shot is lovely!

great pics, makes me look forward to my first weding job in a few weeks! It's for my sister but still, she is counting on me!

My fiance and I are looking for a wedding photographer for our January wedding in Punta Gorda. I figured I'd ask and see if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks!

what date? I may be in Florida around Xmas time for another client for a week (they're flying me in). If the time is close enough I may stay for a couple of days then do your wedding.

I am sure Kelly would do a great job!! If she cant make it though try lukins

He took our pics back in 2000 and is very good!

OK, so here's the deal. We've decided amoung all the other things we've taken on to make our own wedding programs. The printing is not that big a deal, a little MS Publisher and the words are taken care of. However, the picture on the front is what we're working on. We bought program paper with 2 wedding bands on the front then it occured to me we have 2 wedding bands why not just use them.

So here's my studio setup in my dining room thanks to some advice here:

Here's the first shot:

The 2nd:

I know for one I need a slightly darker back ground, need to get more light in the camera, the 3 500w floods are doing fine. Fine some flowers to put around it and get the rings in focus with the rest just fading out. I've got 2 weeks to go and a lot of camera manual to memorize to get this right.

:furious: be very careful with those lamps! :furious: i have them on a stand in my garage and caught a shirt on fire when i was working on something.

what ISO are you using?

The angle of the 2nd shot looks better, and I like the hidden mickey as well. :thumbsup2

there is no shortage of light/heat from those bad boys, thats for sure. Had to turn the AC down in the house before we started this little project. My ISO is low 100-200. I'm still looking into it but I think I know to do, I just don't know how go do it.

I like the 1st angle better myself, I was going to focus more on the ring and let the rest fade a little bit. Either way it's going to have to get done quick, running short on time here.

I was going to, but I figure the best input will equal the best output. The bottom picture we are using is way to dark and to wide also. We've got some others we're probably going to use. Plus I was going to change the poster board to add a little definition and try to flatten the top 2 pictures out a little. Hopefully I'll do some more adjusting tonight and get it right. It occured to me to that since this is going on a wedding program the pic really needs to be vertical. Not sure if the tri pod can do that or if I'll need to shoot wider and crop it.

Nice programs, now get back to work and stop surfing the net :)

I really hope you know who this is, but if you don't I sit next to you :)

Have you tried not using Paper photos in there, I mean scan the photos and then superimpose them in. Maybe fade them in...

some of us are still at work. Plan on hitting the art supply stores this afternoon and this will be the make or break to get this done. You didn't send this from your new phone did you?

I have to agree, I think it might be a better idea to leave the photos out of the picture and stage it with just the rings, some flowers, and some lace.

The photos will come in much better if you scan them on a flatbed, adjust color individually, and place them in MS Publisher, or in Photoshop. That wil also allow you to crop them, tweak the positions of the individual photos electronicaly, and feather the edges of the images. The final effect will be more like a collage of images, instead of just a snapshot of some snapshots.

ETA: The smaller bad is geting a little lost the way you have it positioned - it's almost edge-on to the camera, which hides a lot of the ring's structure. You might want to move it to the front right instead of the back left. It's small enough that it won't cover up much of the larger band.

Here's an update. This should be the final revision. :cool1: I'm out of ideas if it's not. I saved various versions while working on it so I can step back easily if anybody has any ideas.

Couple of minor suggestions:

1) The black text is getting lost, even though it's on a background of mostly white flowers. Put a thin white drop shadow around it and it will stand out much better.

2) Maybe it's just me, but the angle you're shooting at seems too shallow. The subjects seem to be stretching out away from the camera too much, like the opening text in a Star Wars movie. Try putting the camera at more of a 90-degree angle to the subjects and shoot straight down, or as close to it as you can. This will eliminate the stretching effect, and also give you more even flash coverage.

I agree, good idea, maybe I'll fool with it some tonight, I also thought I'd pick a softer yellow.

To late, the future wife has already cut the flower up for another part of the wedding plans. I was kinda of wanting to go stretched out, I focused on the rings. What I would like to do is figure how to soften the entire thing. Stupid Photoshop Elements. :badpc: Not the best time to try to learn this in such a rush.

But still, thanks for the input. I am going to change that text....if I can figure out how.
