How large has everyone's wedding party been? My guest list has about 40 definite people, 55 probables, and 81 total invitees. What would a reasonable bridal party size be???

its whatever you want, its your wedding.
i had 50 guests, for my party, i had a MOH, and FG my DH had a BM and 2 GM,

Definitely pick people you want up there with you, not bodies to fill a quota! :rotfl: You wouldn't believe how many stories one hears from brides who pick people they think they should have and then wish they could un-invite them to be in the wedding party.

I had one attendant, my brother, and DH had his brother.

My problem right now is that I think we'll have about 40-44 ppl at the wedding. If I were to be having a bigger wedding back home I'd like my sister (she'd be the maid of honor), one cousin, and 2 best friends (one guy from age 5 and a college friend), and my brother. On the otherside we'd have 2 brothers and his best friend (since about age 13). Plus 2 flowergirls (4 1/2 yr old twin nieces). So that would be 12 (including us) of the 44 ppl up front. Does that look stupid? I don't know who to cut out!! I mean, I guess the 3 friends??? But we've been in their weddings and does 3 more people really make or break it? Just seems weird to have 1/4th of the guests up front!!!

Does anyone have pics from such a situation? I'd like to see how it all ends up looking!

I have been wondering about this also. We are having an escape wedding, only 20 guests. If I was having a normal size wedding at home I always envisioned 4 bridesmaids (my sister, his 2 sisters, and my best friend) and 4 groomsmen (my 2 brothers, and 2 of his friends). This would mean 1/2 of our guest list would be standing up with us, leaving only 10 people actually watching the wedding. I'm thinking this may look a little crazy and maybe we should each only have one attendant, but that would leave out his sisters and my brothers. Any advice???? How many bridesmaids and groomsmen have other escape brides had?

I have 34 guests. I am having a matron of honor and DF has his best man. I also didn't want a large wedding party with nobody sitting in the crowd..:rotfl:

We're going to have about 50 - 60 (we're inviting 100, but if everyone showed I would be very very surprised). I'm having a MOH (step-sister) jr. bridesmaid (niece to be), and flower girl (niece). Rob (DF) is going to have BM (brother), jr. groomsman (friend's son) and ring bearer (friend's son). We really didn't want a lot of people up at the altar either. I want an audience!! LOL! :rotfl: But I wanted kids to be involved in the wedding. I mean honestly when do we ever get them dressed up?

WE had 50 guests at our wedding. I had three girls and my DH had three guys and we had a ringbearer. I really do not think the numbers count. Ask whoever you want there with you. So what if 1/3 of your guests make up the bridal party. It is your day and you should have what you want.

We are doing an escape. We invited more guests than we could have  . At the last second, people started dropping like flies due to various issues (work, health, the economy). DF has no groomsmen at all, and I have three bridesmaids. We have seven guests total, so you can do the math...:teacher:

That's okay, though. I WANT these people to stand up with me, and I couldn't have chosen between them. I don't really care how it looks, It's our day, afterall :goodvibes
