Okay I am not officially engaged yet, but it is coming soon. I am 23 years old and I have been dating my boyfriend for 7 years. His family has gone to Disney every year since he was 3, and now I love Disney just as much as they do. We recently had our yearly vacation at Disney World, and saw a wedding at Sea Breeze Point. I have been looking at prices and still need loads more information. We have talked about a possible wedding in November of 2012. If anyone can give me ideas I would appreciate it.

Well I am in the process of figuring out a budget, and I am not sure of anything really Bill sent all the information to me....well I am overwhelmed. I just was wondering about photography "Can you have your own, or do you have to use Disney." I know the MK Bridal Session you have to use Disney Photographers, and I really want to do that. I am looking at Epcot Italy ISOLA WEST PLAZA for the Reception, and I looked at the sample Menus he sent, but I am not sure about them. I am also looking at Sea Breeze Point for Ceremony, and would love to know more about decorations...etc. I am wanting to do the Wishes Wedding with the $12,000 Min..,and would love to not have to go over that Budget much! :confused3 I just want some ideas, and any information people would love to give me. haha!!! Nervous!!!:scared:

Oh also.. Tickets for guest "Prices?" or is it worth just buying online. Room Rates "Much of a discount or not?" I am going to have 40-50 Guest and would love to get them a one/two day park hopper, and room at boardwalk!

I'm getting married November 2012. I think it might be hard to stick to the $12,000 minimum with a reception in Epcot - you can only have a reception there at night and the per person food and beverage minimums are higher at night than during the day. Also, for the in park reception, you have to use Disney Photography. They have a package that includes the MK portrait session...I think its in the $5,000 range for that package. The food and beverage minimums would be $125 per person. And you'd have to pay for private transportation for an Italy reception as well. You can build a menu from scratch - there's no need to go with the set menus. I don't think Sea Breeze Point needs much decoration personally, and floral can get expensive quickly. If you are worried about costs, I probably wouldn't go with the in park reception. For convention center locations, you can go with outside floral vendors, and that can be a significant cost savings.

The tickets and hotels won't count towards your minimum and I could see that adding up real fast. Our Boardwalk rate is $270 per night before taxes, and the ticket discount is $20 off park hoppers.

We're having around 50 people for our wedding as well.

welcome and congrats!

the FIRST thing you really really should do is get your mitts on a copy of the passporter’s guide to DFTW/honeymoons - you can download immediately as an e book which will also get you ANY updates/pricing changes all of that - included. so, as you plan and have all these great ideas, you can have the most accurate info AND there are budgeting spreadsheets too! of course i had to have the e book format and the hardcopy too...

but the boards too are a great source for inspiration - happy planning! :thumbsup2

and feel free to invite me, i’d love to stay a night and go to the parks with y’all! ;)

DH and I are having a VR in November 2012. We are doing our ceremony and reception in Epcot.

There are some reception sites within Epcot that can be used all day -- Living Seas Salon and American Adventure Parlor (where we are having ours). Our reception starts at 10 am and ends at 2. We do have provide transportation, use all Disney floral and decor and we must use Disney photography. A lot of couples hate all the restricitions and opt for venues outside the parks for these reasons. We wanted to give our guests an experience they would never forget and knew that the parks were worth the restrictions for us.

If you have your heart set on Italy, you could do a dessert party there and the minimum is much lower. If the timing for this doesn't work on your wedding day, you could do this as a welcome event.

Our rate at the Beach Club for Veterans Day weekend is $263 plus tax. Our rate at Coronado is $148 plus tax.

Hope that helps a bit. If you have questions, feel free to ask.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong - but I thought I remembered hearing that the MK photo shoots were not available for all of fall/winter 2012. I know some brides recently have had November shoots canceled, and some sort of at the last minute. If that was something you are really set on, then I would maybe reconsider the time of year or at least investigate the matter further. Hope that helps!

Good catch, Becky!

There is a black out on MK shoots from the end of October until the middle of January. You can still come back and do the MK shoot up to a year after, so if it's that important to you, you can schedule it that way. Or you can choose one of the other parks.

I KNOW!!! princess: the author - aka lurks loo- is frequently on the boards. She's my own personal Oprah. :goodvibes

As others have said, if you are looking to use Italy as part of your wewdding day, I would suggest having your ceremony there in the morning. We were married in Epcot in Italy in November 2008. Our ceremony was at 9:00am. We then did a brunch at ADH. Our cocktail hour was from 10:00 to 11:00 and then our reception was from 11:00 to 3:00. We have a few hour break (that both we and our guests appreciated) and then we all headed back to Epcot to UK Lower for our Dessert Party. This made for a wonderful full day. I loved having the morning and afternoon celebrations and then reconnecting with everyone later that evening.

At the time we were married, you could have outside photographers at in park locations. Unfortunately, that is not the case any more.

As you now have Carrie's book - you will be in good hands.
