Hi! Ive been engaged for 1 year, but still must wait 3 more years til our wedding! We plan on getting married at Disneyland after I finish with college and internships. My question is... what are some ways that you save money for your wedding? I am working and going to school so sometimes it is hard to find the money to save, but I want to try and save a little at a time. My fiance will start his career before me and will be able to save money, but I want some simple suggestions of how to gradually save money over time.

Also, any suggestions for a goal to work towards? I know how much disney runs for a wedding, but how much did you account for attire, hotels, favors, honeymoon, etc?

Thanks for all the help! Id like to soak up advice and wisdom from those that are older and more experienced than I am.

Hi! We paid for our entire honeymoon using money we'd saved, rewards we'd earned, and the Disney Honeymoon Registry. The money we saved was all in dribs and drabs, and it really added up. We had "The Jar" into which we put any coins we found, had leftover from taking $ out of the ATM, got for recycling, or made selling stuff on eBay (we sold a LOT of stuff on eBay). Any "extra" money we came into, like for babysitting or getting an incentive for signing up for a new bank account, we put in The Jar too.

We earned Disney Rewards by using a Disney Visa Rewards credit card for almost all of our daily expenses and paying it off in full every month. I also earned Disney Rewards cards by taking surveys and shopping through Sunshine Rewards, which was started by a DIS boards member. I'm stuck at a computer all day, so I have time to click on paid links and stuff to earn money. Since I started a year ago, I've earned $535!

If you look on the Budget Boards of this website, you'll learn about more money-saving or money-making ideas too!

That's my two cents about earning money in little ways - maybe someone will have advice about the bigger ways! :thumbsup2

To help us not spend money on other things. we had a certain dollar amount from our paycheck taken out each time and went into the savings account. And the trick is just not to use it. But we do plan on using our disney visa card to pay for stuff, then use the savings money to pay off the card. and just keep going in circle like that so we can get more rewards.
