The other option COULD be that we give them a night at the Grand Flordian. BUT I think thoer funds are VERY tight and if I can pay for 3 night at a moderate or 5 at an All Star, taht would be money better spent. As much as I LOVE the dluxes. Stayed at most of them including GF concierge last time.... I think they want to go so badly with us when we go next Dec. that maybe I need to make SURE they go by paying for thier room. Would that be a good wedding gift?

We've stayed at all the Moderates except the CS which I think we might try this time...since we really can't afford to stay at the Poly where we currently have ressies AND pay for their room as well.

Any thoughts on this matter? I welcome them ALL!!!! Including a creative way to package their gift. :bounce:

Thanks in advance to all!
Ps...the groom is my brother. ;)

What a nice wedding gift! I can't help you with the selection of resorts, I've never stayed at a moderate or All Stars...but for packaging..could you mail order those bride/groom mouse ears hats and package with the resort confirmation? Or maybe a nice Disney gift bag containing a WDW guidebook and confirmation.

What a great gift! I'd go with as many nights as I could because more days there would mean more to me than extra luxury. I would see about All Stars or if one of them is a nurse, teacher or government employee you could go with the Swan/Dolphin for 129.00

I would find an empty toaster or blender box (I know, where would you find THAT???). I would find one though because of the old stereotype wedding gifts and I'd pack the paid confirmation sheet and a few Disney Dollars in there with lots of confetti and tissue. Maybe you could add a "Passporter", I read one and it's great!

We had a family discussion on this and we agreed that the All Star Music. More grown up and less kids and it gives them five days in the park. Disney is about the parks and characters, so you want them to experience the most.

As a travel agent, I have seen people register for such trips. What you can do is approach some other family members and see if they are willing to help a little with their honeymoon and add to it.

Make a list and have them pick - perhaps you can figure in the cost of an upgrade to a moderate or deluxe. Make dinner reservations and include disney money in the amount of the meals, book them a fireworks/illumination cruise.

Get a box (plain) and decorate it. Or I got a friend who sent a glass bottle filled with confetti, and her wedding invitation. Go to the disney store and put some disney dollars, roll up the confirmation and anything else or the paper you have printed will all the extras, etc. on it, and put it inside. What a surprise when they open it and see what they got.

You will be surprised at how many people will go with the idea, particularly the bridal party. Have you ever heard the question, "We don't know what to get them for their wedding."

Ooooo. Some GREAT ideas!!!!! Love em!!!! :smooth:
Since we've got 9 months til the wedding, I've got plenty of time to enlist others contribustions if they want. AND my future sister in law is a government employee so if I want to go that route, I can.

Thanks guys!!! This will be their first trip to WDW...want it to be magical!

This is the neatest thread. I loved the poster's idea about enlisting others to contribute to this beautiful gift. I bet you'll get some excellant response. Do you want to keep it a surprise? That may be difficult with everyone contributing knowing about it, BUT if I was the couple I'd rather know ahead and have contribution, than a surprise and none! Hopefully everyone will keep quiet. I bet if you called the Swan/Dolphin direct in house reservations and told them your plan you could get lots of help and support pulling this off. Some of those girls are VERY kind. Have you read everything by DreamFlight99? I would if you haven't, she's a wealth of knowledge if these hotels are going to be a serious consideration for you.

Super nice gift! If it is 9 months out (September?), keep you eyes open for any special discounts that may pop up during the summer months. You may be able to find a Garden View at the GF for around $199/night.

Happy Planning! :)

What a great gift!!!

I have only stayed at one moderate and that was CS. I really loved this resort and we stayed in the Rancho area and it was very private. We always stay at a deluxe but when we did a Christmas trip we opt for a moderate and CS was brand new. I liked the grounds as much as I love the GF !

Could you get the vacation video and send this to the couple?
Please let us know what you finally decide to do.

oh, I wish DW had been opened when I got married in 1966!!!! My husband says he isn't too sure about that because I probably would still be in Orlando!!
;)

I would have to vote for the Swan/Dolphin if your friend can get the discount. After that I think it would be Port Orleans....What a wonderful idea for a gift! Good luck with your decision!
