Wedding dresses

It doesn't look very interesting on Missy Poutypants here, but I wasn't able to get any shots at the boutique...
:rotfl:
Don't all brides look better in their wedding dresses than the models! :bride: I know I sure did! They just don't look as "special" on someone who is paid to pose than they do on someone who is in love. :cloud9:

I am just in the very early stages of my wedding planning (08/30/08) but I now have 2 of the most important things done - We were able to get our ceremony and reception site at the Disneyland Hotel Rose Garden and the Grand Californian for the reception.

And yesterday we ordered my dress (it will be here in 5-6 months!!!) I didn't think I would be getting my dress so soon but the Maggie Sottero dress I fell in love with is from her 2006 collection and I had trouble finding a shop that carried it to try it on - when I did find a shop and tried it on it was love at first site!

This is the dress (except mine will be in Diamond White - gold doesn't work on my skin) - I don't have any good pics yet of me in it - hopefully when mine comes in!! :cool1:

I wanted that dress to be my dress! It just wasn't the one when I tried it on. I still love it when I see it though. I did end up going with another Maggie Sottero. I love her stuff!

Oh I love looking at everyone's dresses! They are so pretty! I must confess, I get all excited when I see the ones with all the toulle (sp?) and sparklies on them. Although mine has none I love them on others ;)

I agree! :thumbsup2 I also think another reason is that the models are usually 14 or 15 years old! :rotfl2: "Miss Poutypants" probably is upset that she didn't get a date to the school dance!

I'm so excited to be able to add to this thread. I'm getting married in Sept. 2008. I already have my dress from David's Bridal. No pics of me in it yet but here it is on the model. Sorry I can't post just the pic. It wouldn't let me and I had to post the whole darn page.

It has the most breautiful lace and beading. I hated having to take it off :rotfl:
It's currently sitting at my future mother in laws house until I have to get it fitted.
I also have a cathederal length veil to go with it.

That dress is gorgeous. I love the lace. Make sure to post a picture of you in it. I'm sure you look stunning. :)

I just started going around trying on wedding dresses. The first place I went to didn't allow you to take pictures of you in the dresses, the other place I went to said they allow pictures. What is everyone elses experience with this?

Thanks :)

oh my gosh that is so beautiful!!

My experience was that at the larger bridal store chains (i.e. David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo), there was no problem with taking pictures. However, hardly any of the smaller boutiques I went to allowed pictures. If they did, it was only after you purchased the dress. HTH! :)

Wow Wow Wow!!! What a great dress!!! You look great in it! Nice Choice.

Not sure how to post pictures so here is a link to my dress, hope it works. I just knew it was 'the one' as soon as i tried it on.
Im going for my final fitting next week, then i've just got to figure out how to get it in my suitcase.

Beautiful dress, very Cinderella-y! I would strongly recommend carrying the dress on in your carry-on if possible, even if it is the only thing you carry on. That is one thing you do not want to risk letting the airline lose!

Here's my Anjolique dress on the model:

What a beautiful dress! I love the gold detail on it... I too go for my first fitting next month!! I had 2 months from Yesterday till my wedding. Congratulations to you!

I just ordered my wedding dress yesterday! I really love it...it is all silk and chiffon and very light to wear (a necessity for a July wedding!)

The only snag is that the shop called me today to say that the dress is discontinued so it cannot be ordered (it is a Mon Cheri Destinations dress.) They said that they are cleaning the sample that everyone's tried on for me and replacing the broken zipper (the reason why I am holding it shut in the pic). I am okay with this but I am wondering if they should offer a discount since it is a floor model that would have normally been discounted once the dress was discontinued. What do you all think?

Yes!! They definitely should offer you a discount! No way should you have to pay full price for a used floor sample - and with a broken zipper (even if they do fix it)!

If they don't want to give you a discount, I suggest looking for the dress on eBay or one of the large, reputable online wedding gown retailers, such as www.netbride.com, www.pearlsplace.com or www.rkbridal.com.

I had a shop try to sell me a nearly ruined sample gown at a "bargain" price of $700 (half off their regular price of $1400), but then I did some online research and learned it had only cost them $300-$500! I found the same dress on eBay and got it brand new for $500.

They should absolutely give you a discount. When I was married (18 years ago!!) the dress I loved was no longer available. I bought the sample for $150 -- original cost of the dress was $800. Insist on a discount!!

No pics with me in it but this is the dress i bought just 2 weeks ago It should be in around Nov. 27th. I was thinking of making the roses pink but i'm not sure. Any thoughts?
