Wedding dresses

I am not having a Disney wedding, but I hope it's ok that I post my dress. We are at least having a Disneymoon ;) The dress looks sooo different on me in the store I think, but this pic is the best I cold come up with. I don't know why the model looks like she is strung out on drugs and feels the need to stand lopsided, but whatever, beggers can't be choosers on the internet I suppose. I am not wearing the gloves, and my dress will be in ivory. This was the first dress I put my hands on, on the first day of dress shopping, and as soon as I put it on I was in love  I fell in love with the bottom of the dress mostly- but I like the whole thing :lmao: In person in ivory it has a vintage kind of feel to it, which is what I am going for with my peacock feather theme.

I really wanted to get married in a pink dress but my mother convinced me I should get married in white so I'm doing white for my at home church wedding in September.

Can't wait to wear them!!!

Both of your gowns are really gorgeous, but I'm especially in love with the pink one!! :lovestruc

That's going to look so amazing at Disney! (I had a friend get married in pink - the bridesmaids wore chocolate brown with pink sashes from JCrew - spectacular wedding!! Yours is going to be stunning!)

Thank you!! I'm not having any bridesmaids in Disney but I think DF's tux will have a silver vest to match the pink.

For my at home reception the girls will be in royal blue and silver. It looks nice with the white gown

love your pink dress, i got married in a pink maggie sottero as well in disney

Here are two pics of me in my wedding dress.
I am having a casual wedding so I am using a bridesmaid dress which I am making tea length.

For my August wedding:

The back . .my favorite part of the dress. The sash will be longer but in a shade of yellow.

I think I may add a "ribbon" of yellow at the top of the dress that will match the sash. thoughts? I'm simple person and this dress fits my personality. My wedding in August will be outside, in Maine, so I wanted something lighter in wedding. Everything I tried on at David's was so heavy and/or required a petticoat. I was not at all interested in that.

That dress will be even more stunning in Ivory.

The pink one is my favorite of the two choices.

Apparently, I never posted mine! It is a Sottero Midgely VSM7010.

...and on the big day! The embroidery and crystals were pewter colour and gorgeous. It was the back that really sold me. I wore a triple hoop underneath, but still had the front taken up a little extra to keep from tripping on it!! The hoop helped carry a lot of weight because that puppy was heavy!! It also made it super cool...didn't feel hot all day. I think every girl should wear a HUGE dress on her wedding day...when else can you?

This is SUCH a pretty dress!

On another note, wow has her waist been photoshopped! Seriously, that's just silly! Her waist is the size of her neck!

I saw that girl modeling that gown thought she looked awfully familiar. Then I realized that I graduated high school with her! And yes, she really is that thin! HAHA Although putting her on an angle like that makes her look sickly. I wasn't friends with her...she was too "popular" to give me the time of day...oh well! Her loss :rotfl:

And yes, that gown is beautiful!

hehehe I have that pink one too!

Beautiful dresses everyone! Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I have a question. It appears as if most of the dresses, especially the large princessy ones that I love have stiff looking corsets or boning in the bodices. Is it difficult to sit down/eat all that delicious Disney food and desserts with this type of thing in the way? Do you loosen it for your meal? Or is there a way to get the boning removed so its more comfortable? I just cant imagine paying so much for all of that wonderful food and having to watch everyone else eat while you cant on your wedding day!

This is my DD's dress and, yes, the model is horribly thin!! I have to try to look past her bone-thin appearance! It does look pretty on a "real" person. :)

so i have been waiting so long to post to this thread because i didn't have my dress but now i do and i'm very excited.
Here's the front

here's the back

then here's a pic of me trying it on with a veil. The veil i am wearing with the dress is almost the same as the one in the pic but its only elbow length.
