Has anyone ever seen a bride wear her wedding dress at 'Ohana? My reason for this question is that we are getting married next week and our wedding dinner is at 'Ohana at 5pm on August 10th. Some people want her to wear the dress, while she feels she would feel a little uncomfortable wearing it then. Any comments?

I have seen many brides at Ohana in their dresses. Nothing to feel uncomfortable about.... wear it and get the additional attention and extend the Magic (or relive it).

Have a great time.

She should wear it. It's her wedding day!! People will congratulate her constantly.
I have heard lots of people have worn their dresse at O'Hana, and why not?? It's a lovely place.
Go for it!

Hi

hope you dont mind me hijacking this thread but i wondered what the general opinion was regarding wearing a wedding dress at other disney locations. Im getting married of site at Cypress Grove but would love to celebrate afterwards at one of the disney properties. The timing of our wedding is early at 11.30 am so would ideally be wanting to eat at about 2pm which is proving to be a bit of a problem, does anyone have any suggestions we are currently considering doing the high tea at the GF then making an adr for a meal later in the eve but like the original poster am a little worried about looking out of place in my wedding dress as everyone else in the restaurant is more casually dressed.

Info on the tea at the GF would be most welcome

thanks

Hi forestangel,

I am doing Afternoon tea after my wedding so will be wearing my dress I was worried too but now am not bothered. What info would you like?

My thoughts are:

It's your wedding day (a day like no other)

& You are at Disney.

Wear your wedding dresses. You should not feel out of place. Be happy.
I had people popping out from everywhere congratulating us on our wedding day.
People are like ' wow there's a Disney bride over there', and when I saw a bride I did the same thing too.

I wore my dress at O'Hana last year. One of my best memories was because I was in my dress. I got up and went to the bathroom and had two or three little girls follow me. When I got into the bathroom they asked me if I was a bride and I said that yes I was and they giggled. When I went into the stall the little girls stood guard for me and as others entered the bathroom they would announce that there was a bride in there. LOL When I went back to our table I heard the girls telling their mom that I was a real bride and how exciting, etc.... As our party left the restaurant the mom stopped me and said congratulations and thanked me for making her daughters day. I loved it and would not trade it for the world.

i wore my dress to chef mickeys, my way of thinking: its my wedding day, i'm going to wear my dress!

I know plenty of brides that have worn their dress all day at Disney. Also, they have gotten their pictures taken (by me) at various resorts in their wedding dress. So wear it. Get special attention, enjoy it and like I wrote earlier.... Extend the Magic... :)

Obviously, you can't go in a park wearing it.... :)

When we were married at WDW, they were very particular about not allowing people who were married off site to wear wedding dresses on Disney property. There have been all kinds of crazy things, like people trying to do sneaky weddings or vow renewals on Disney property, without going through FTW and purchasing the package. Our SM told us about "weddings" on the beach being interrupted by WDW staff, so they were very strict about the attire guidelines.

I would check with the restaurant; this information was true back in 2002, but it's possible they may have become more lenient, though I can't see that being the case.

Cheers!

I intend to wear my dress all day long when we get married, its the only day in your life when you can wear it so make the most of it :woohoo: . Why spend all that money just to restrict it to the ceremony? Getting all the special attention will only add to the magic of the whole day so id go for it :cheer2:. Its us girls only chance to look like a princess for the day so for that reason forget what others think its your day . It doesn't matter which location you choose for your reception, as long as its allowed id keep the wedding in full swing with the attire. You only get the one day to have all the light shine on you so make the most of it i know i intend to!
