Wedding dance entrance

I think the fact that many of them don't have rhythm makes it even better. Are they supposed to kick people out of the wedding party if they can't dance? I'm thinking the bride had trouble because of her dress, heels and nerves.

Of course you don't kick them out.

But when you post the video for the world to view, most will voice their opinions. In my opinion it would have looked a heck of a lot better if the people could actually dance.

The wedding was June 20th and the video got posted a month later. What Mystery Machine heard seems to be valid. If it was done for youtube I think they would have gotten it up faster.

and had a better videographer and editor.

I think it is very cynical to think people only do these types of things for the youtube fame. My niece did a lot of crazy preplanned dance things. Her wedding party did a thriller dance, as well as some rather non-traditional songs, and dance moves for intos at the reception, and the first dance, mother-son, and father-daughter. She had an Elvis impersonator sing "Fools rush in" for her entrance at the wedding. She did draw the line, and didn't let him dress the part though. He was more of a fat Elvis he sounded great though.

None of this is on Youtube, and it probably won't be. Her and her new hubby just wanted things to be different, and fun. They also had 250 skyline chili dogs delivered to the reception for a late night snack. Just wanted people to enjoy themselves. I think they accomplished their goal. At midnight there were still over 150, of the 200 wedding guests left, and we partied on until 2 am. Everyone was having a blast. Not many weddings I've been to can claim that.

They didn't post it for "the whole world to see". There are plenty of videos on Youtube with only 20 or less views. They certainly didn't post the url in the New York Times or sell tickets. No doubt they simply told some faily and friends who they knew would like to see the video. Its simple, joyful and nice. I for one passed the link on to two friends as well.

I can't figure out why anyone thinks this is to be a "celebrity". None of the "Youtube" celebrities have been millionaires, whatever happened to the Single Ladies Dancer? Or... I can't think of anyone else actually

I have some very old home movies up on youtube. I put it up for family and friends to see. It has almost 1000 views. I find it laughable when someone comments on it not being of better quality. It is what it is. I'm not supposed to post the video because it isn't a fancy edited music video?

Most of the comments I get are from people who get it and understand I posted it more for nostalgia than being creative.

I've also posted videos from concerts for my friends, but I don't mind if other fans view them. Some of them have over 5,000 views. Not sure how everyone finds them. And they sure aren't fantastic quality.

The only thing I can recommend is that you scrolll through Youtube a little Its certainly not for solely for expert videos, that would interest the greater population. They didn't mind others seeing it, but as I said they certainly didn't advertise it to the world.

And I'm honestly not aware of any private sites that wouldn't require someone to go through a lengthy process of "joining" and be "friended" (or similar). Too much hassel when user friendly Youtube is available, and they had no private content to prevent them from posting.

We use it. However no one is interested in our topics.

When dh and I were house shopping and I was in TX and he was in MO, he would take video's of homes we were looking at so I could view them.

So it is done.

You're not missing anything.

Everyone looked like they were having a good time, but some of them just can't dance, especially the bride.

It would not have mattered where the dance was performed. Since so many of the dancers had no rhythm, it would have looked bad.

In the proper venue and with a group of people that could actually move to the beat of the music and it would be awesome.

Have you ever heard that saying, "Dance like no one's watching"? That's what they did and I think it was all the better for not looking more professional. Real people having fun. A wedding without a bride freaking out that it wasn't perfect. I loved it and thought the whole wedding party was adorable.

I'm not that much of a fan of random dancing, that is for sure! But, every time I even think of that video, I blush from embarrassment for the bridal party!! I'm so glad I am past the age of being a bridesmaid, because I would be extremely uncomfortable dancing in like that!!

Me too! I certainly don't think it's terrible, but I think it would have been better suited for the reception. And I'm not religious, so it has nothing to do with thinking it isn't appropriate behavior for a church.

I'm talking about hearing a beat and being able to move to it. You tap your feet, clap your hands, snap your fingers, move your body . . . in rhythm. You don't have to take classes to be able to do that, you're born with it.

Umm.. I do. It's easier to send my family a link to a website than having everyone register for a different thing, or try to figure out how to send somebody a video. Most of my video files are too big to send through email. And then if you put it up on a site that requires signing up, you run into the problem of this person being registered for one site and someone else for another. youtube makes it easy by letting you send one link to everyone, and everyone can see it, whether they're registered for it or not. And if someone else sees it, then I hope they got a laugh out of it.

The groom's entrance was my favorite part, and then when he met her partway down the aisle to walk her up. That was really cute, I thought.

I didn't think it was the greatest performance, but they are clearly not professionals and that's what makes it extra special. I, for one, would NEVER do that for a friend.

And some people aren't born with it. And I'm okay with them dancing within my sight range--I like to see people having fun whether they're good or not.

At dd's graduation party, a male friend's 7 yo dd talked him into dancing with her to Flashdance. The two of them really got into it--they were awful but it was so endearing to watch this man, a tough police officer, do it to make his little girl happy. They got the dance floor to themselves and a standing ovation.

I saw a lot of that same kind of fun and joy and willingness to let people laugh at their expense in that wedding party.
