That's the downside to a solo trip - when your loved ones and friends are somewhere else and you are wanting to continue the evening but find yourself alone. Like you, I have just gone to a lobby and sat and walked around Crescent Lake and the boardwalk area late at nite, which can be very peaceful but a bit lonely too. I have also jumped into the quiet side pool at the Yacht Club at 1am for a quiet swim because I just wasn't ready for my nite to end! I had no problem going to the parks solo, or even dining solo. But once midnight hits it's kinda nice to have a cohort!
Well said - you hit the nail on the head!
another fabulous update. I loved it all.
I played the clarinet in the band until my Sr yr...I got to be one of those annoying flag corp girls then. Sorry I had to say it.
I love Jensey's photos. She is beyond talented. I want that 20 yr vow renewal so bad.
Wow - congrats on almost 20 years!
Great update Carrie Bluezoo looked delicious. I hope the banquet menu food is just as good. I believe Simply Fish is one of my choices. LOL. Thanks for the pics!
I can't wait to hear all about it - maybe you'll start a trend toward bluezoo for Escape weddings!
Another great update. That food looks really good, but the cake was a bit unimpressive.
Thank you for all the pictures of the Living Seas, it does make me reconsider using it.
Oh geez - I hope I didn't come down on it too hard there! It is really nice in the salon - really well maintained, and the aquarium windows are a big bonus. It's just too bad they couldn't have sunk a skylight in there or something.
A cake in the shape of a Passporter would have been awesome! I hope that one at least tasted good...
BTW, I think your dress looks fabulous on you!

Thank you! I don't know why I felt so self-conscious... oh yeah, cuz everyone else was in shorts and jeans!
I have to tell you that I just busted out laughing about your description of the Passporter cake.....Aunt Mabels kleenex box cover!!!!

I had to fill my DH in on what was so funny...you CRACK ME UP!!! Thanks for keeping me laughing Carrie!!
Any time!

(I'm also good at comical burping - just let me know.

)
Carrie, my mother-in-law sent me this recipe earlier this week, and I just have to share it with you. It's not gourmet by any means, but I will say it is really frikken good when you have an instant cake craving. I tried it with the hubby today (I was "good" and shared), and he came up with the brilliant idea to add peanut butter the next time we have it. As he was mentioning the peanut butter I actually had an instant "Ooh, Lurkyloo would love this!" moment!
So, here it is, and like I said, it may not be gourmet, but it is quite yummy
OK, this is how mine turned out - not a thing of beauty, but sweet merciful crap, I had chocolate-peanut butter cake inside 5 minutes!!!
Leaning Tower o' Cake
I wish I'd had chocolate chips - it's a little dry without them (bakers beware), but the big dollop of peanut butter I baked in the middle helps. The other thing that helps is the frosting I made out of peanut butter and powdered sugar!
Thanks so much for this awesome recipe!

This is my favorite part:
this is the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now you are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
The Living Seas Salon photos bring back memories for me, its where we had our reception and your right, its way to dark in there. Its funny, I don't remember the mirrors when you first walk in, but maybe thats because I was greet by everyone and they were quickly bussling my dress. My fav. story of the few min before we made our entrances is, the restroom that is right there when you walk in, DH and I both used. I walked in, the door was open, and I stood there going, how am I going to do this? How do you pee in such a big dress? I called DH, he came in(there was no one else in there but us), we went into the handcap stall and he held my dress up for me. It was so funny, his first offical husband duities. Now thats true love.

Wow - that IS true love! You are a very lucky lady.... also, thanks for the link to your trippie!
That sounds like just what I need because if I make a cake I'm the only one who'll eat it!

And this is bad... how?
Thanks for sharing! I HAVE to try this! I'm always scouring the pantry for something sweet and I always have all of those ingredients hanging around.
Mrs. Lurkyloo, too funny about the invisible piano player and crocheted tissue box cover!

Doesn't that piano look like Wonder Woman's invisible plane? You're looking at it going "That thing's not invisible - I can clearly see the white outlines!" Plus, what good was an invisible plane if you could still see a seated Wonder Woman hurtling toward you?
Great update! Now, I'm feeling spoiled! Your dress, Carrie? Amazing on you! I loved it! And can only imagine how good it looked with your hat!

Aw, thanks! Also, try the cake! But don't forget the chocolate chips.
I LOOOOVE Your TR but I must ask...what camera do you use because I love how the pics come out!!!!!
Hiya! You know your sister just asked that very question a few days ago. I guess it's true what they say about great minds.
If you mean the pictures that look like this...
...then that's my camera, a 9-year-old Canon Powershot S200.
But if you mean the pictures that look like this...
... that's the amazing Mrs. Jensey Root (OK, technically, Mrs. Nathan Root, but let's drag Emily Post into the 21st Century, shall we?) and her Canon EOS 5D Mark II plus some Photoshop plus heaping truckloads of talent.
