Wedding Crasher: Lurkyloo’s 4 Parties in 3 Nights with 2 Cameras and 1 Fabulous Hat

Count me in great start lurkyloo or as my DS calls you from your wedding pic Kate Winslet:goodvibes.

Love Jensey's photos :cool1: I wish I had her talent. Your hat is adorable! Like you I am freakishly pale and require a lot of protection from the sun. Now after looking at the desserts I feel like a brownie! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Mmmm.... me too!

Pixie Hollow is so cute!

So sad I don't get to go in May anymore.

I went 2 times and really enjoyed it.

So what's keeping you from going in May these days? Oh wait - let me guess.... kids? :cutie:

Yeah, if I was holding 4 grand worth of camera and lenses, I’d be a bit nervous myself.

Totally! I get nervous just looking at that thing. I know I'm going to break it!

1.) I have decided I indeed need a big floppy hat..preferably in black, since that is my jam.

2.) Also being practically albino, I know ink would take wondeful on your skin.

3.) I love love love all the shrub characters!

4.) Yes, May is hawt as ballllls in Florida! We were there in 2005 and were dying!

5.) Despite that heat index and no free dining, I would really love to go during May again, just to see all the prettiness!

5.) You are adorable..now get with the cake pics.

:rotfl2: Nice list! I know where you can get a big floppy hat - now do we know anyone who's going to Epcot before the end of the festival? :scratchin Cake pix, coming right up!

You have lived a DIS'ers drema my friend.

By jove, you're right! In fact, I think Gifts of a Lifetime actually sells the services of a "vacation photographer" who follows your family around snapping pix so you don't have to!

It's so sad to see that wated pavilion just sitting there.

I've got to write that one down. First Lady Biscuit would be on cloud nine.

I don't think it's scooping the next installment to tell you that I think your First Lady would flip her biscuit for BoardWalk Bakery's PB Chocolate Cake. :thumbsup2

:)

Disclaimer: I mean this in the least insulting way possible, so hopefully it doesn't offend, but......

That picture of you on the escalator in The Land Pavilion is probably the funniest thing I have seen in a long while (which doesn't really say much for my life). GREAT picture, great expression, great hat----just hilarious.

No offense taken! I admit my vanity almost prevented me from posting that picture cuz of my unflattering pose, but comedy won out! :teeth:

PS: I see they still don't have the PB Chocolate cake at Sunshine Seasons. Was the Boardwalk an acceptable substitute?? (I'm sure you'll answer that later on in your TR, but I'm hungry now and on a diet---so at least indulge me with a simple yes or no!!) :thumbsup2

Yes - I have to say, it was even better than the long-lost cake at Sunshine Seasons! :cake:

Loving your Trip Report!

Thanks! I'm just sorry you and I never crossed paths at WDW - are you going to do a trip report?

Awesome hat! :thumbsup2 I want one for my September trip. Can't wait to read the next installment.

Thanks! OK, I went to look up the manufacturer for you (San Diego Hat Co.) and discovered the hat is 75% PAPER! Who knew?

That hat qualifies as a Derby Hat. In fact, I think it's ore a Derby hat than a sun hat, so from now on, you must walk around WDW with a mint julep cup in your hand. I'll teach you the Kentucky drawl to go along with it. :goodvibes

Can do! That sounds like FUN!

As promised, here are the completely-worth-it cupcakes. A word of advice: on their own, each part is completely un-noteworthy. But together . . . well, surely you've seen those commercials for the his-and-hers lubes? With the great graphic euphemisms? Well, it's like that!

:rotfl2: Wow! Now that's an eye-popping mental image. Thanks for the recipe! I admit to being slightly scared by the multiple steps required but, perhaps surprisingly to some, not at all disturbed about that copious amount of Crisco required. :rotfl:

10 posts!

Here's the link to what I use to fill the cupcakes:

OMG! OMG! I *have* that! :hyper: I got it for a wedding present!Whhoo!

Count me in great start lurkyloo or as my DS calls you from your wedding pic Kate Winslet:goodvibes.

 Wowza! Give that kid an extra dessert for me! :thumbsup2

Hmmm... Once again I don't find this one until it's already seven pages in. Great start on the TR, The Akershus Storybook Fantasy Breakfast of Doom (I think I probably got that wrong) was particularly enjoyable.

Just remember, "Revenge is a dish best served cold."

I always seem to be late. I don't know if that is still fashionable or not but your hat sure was! Love it dahling!

So if I buy a real camera, will my pictures come out like Jensey's? :lmao: Great stuff.

It's too bad that Akershus has turned out like it has. It was fabulous eating there, showing my age, 20 years ago. It was a buffet, but a nice one. No princesses. You wouldn't think that a princess could spoil anything.
:confused3

I covet your new hat! You look ravishing in the first few pics and then? OH so adorable on the escalator! I just wanted to give you a big squeezy hug! Too cute, my dear. Too cute!

I love the hat!!! You look soooooo glam in it!!

.....and you would do great now at a photo shoot at Tiffanys. :goodvibes -
its either that or the opening scene of the James Cameron movie, "Titantic", when she gets out of the car....hhmmmmm.....I'm thinking Tiffanys;).

you are once again a master at trip reports - :thumbsup2.

Yes, Yes!! That's it! I was looking at the pic thinking she looks like she should be a french figurine, but your discription is much better.

Carrie, you are so photogenic......now on with the cake! :rotfl:

I MUST see your hat.....but I can't cause here I am at work trying to read your latest installment, which I had no time to read last night. I can't believe I must wait an entire 8 hours to see this hat (and the rest of your pics).

Could you start posting your pics to Flicker so I can see them at work? Ha ha....just kidding :rotfl: (actually, I'm almost kidding...hint...hint)

Excellent reporting so far and Jensey's pics are FAB to say the least! (Yours aren't so bad either) ;) Anxiously awaiting next installment popcorn::....you know, the one that includes........ME!!! tee hee :cool1::lmao:

OMG! OMG! I *have* that! :hyper: I got it for a wedding present!Whhoo!

You're very welcome! I hear ya on the Crisco - this recipe was the first time Crisco was used so prominently in anything I baked. I mean, we all know it's in there, especially in store-bought cakes/frostings, but still . . .

And don't be frightened by the steps. You could always make the filling one day, store it in the frig, and make the cupcakes/frosting another day. And then you're already 1/3 of the way to another round of deliciousness because there's enough filling for 2 batches of cupcakes! :woohoo:

And since you got the Wilton dessert thingy when you got married, see, the universe wants you to make these cupcakes. :rotfl:

Great report so far!! I love the hat.

I came across this website today and thought of you (WARNING: not all images are suitable for work computers, some are just outright wrong)

Then I saw this cake, and thought I should share.

can't wait for the next installment.

Joining your trip report. I loved the trip report you did for your Wedding!! You had some of the best Wedding picture ever!

Can't wait to hear more.

I too am sorry we never crossed paths. I hurt my back the second night we were there, so our trip took a different path then what was planned. Oh well, we still had fun.

Yep, Im working on a trip report. My back still isn't doing well, so its taking me longer then I would have hoped.

.....and you would do great now at a photo shoot at Tiffanys. :goodvibes -
its either that or the opening scene of the James Cameron movie, "Titantic", when she gets out of the car....hhmmmmm.....I'm thinking Tiffanys;).

This MUST happen! Carrie, you have to bring the hat next time you are up this way and we'll take a jaunt to Tiffany & Co. to snap some very glam shots of you in front of the store! That would be so great! I'm no Jenzy but, I can get it done.

But the cool part was that I had a welcome bag waiting for me!!!
Then I sat down and rifled through my loot bag. In addition to the toiletries, I got some lovely New York City Disney shwag (because Lori and her DH live in NYC): two pins, a Minnie Liberty pen, a vintage Donald key chain, a lined journal (this is very cool because I am always on the lookout for my next journal, and I have trouble finding good ones that have pages with lines on them), and a bag of chocolate doubloons –er, coins. Plus, the bag is supercute! Thanks, Lori!

Oooooh! Loot!

How come I thought I got you a good amount of stuff, but when it's all laid out here, it doesn't look that great after all...:sad2: yet....:lmao:

Just remember, "Revenge is a dish best served cold."

:rotfl2: So perhaps the princesses took their revenge on me at Akershus by making sure my food got cold?

So if I buy a real camera, will my pictures come out like Jensey's? :lmao: Great stuff.

Unfortunately, the camera is only the beginning. Apparently one also has to have "talent" and "editing skills," the difference being immediately apparent when you compare our wedding photos with the shots Disney took of us in the Magic Kingdom. :rotfl:

I covet your new hat! You look ravishing in the first few pics and then? OH so adorable on the escalator! I just wanted to give you a big squeezy hug! Too cute, my dear. Too cute!

Aw – thanks! And thanks for the squeezy hug!

I love the hat!!! You look soooooo glam in it!!

Hey, thanks! Who knew I’d make such a find at Disney?

Awww... you’re too kind! :cloud9: I looooved “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” as a teen, and we played most of the soundtrack at our wedding reception.

Yes, Yes!! That's it! I was looking at the pic thinking she looks like she should be a french figurine, but your discription is much better.

Carrie, you are so photogenic......now on with the cake! :rotfl:

:) More cake, coming right up!

PM sent. ;)

a few days and 8 pages!!!:scared1: OK, I am all caught up...continue:surfweb:

Love the hat:thumbsup2

Thanks! Sorry the trippie’s getting so long. I admit I’m shamelessly drawing it out just because I love writing it so much! :lmao:

My celebrity guest star! Are you ready for your closeup? :teeth:

Who am I to deny the universe? Who am I to deny two batches of filling?!

Great report so far!! I love the hat.

can't wait for the next installment.

That is so funny! Jensey got me started on that site a few months ago. It keeps me and DH in stitches! I haven't been on in a while though - thanks for the reminder...

Joining your trip report. I loved the trip report you did for your Wedding!! You had some of the best Wedding picture ever!

Can't wait to hear more.

Hey, thanks for coming along for the ride! :wave2:

I too am sorry we never crossed paths. I hurt my back the second night we were there, so our trip took a different path then what was planned. Oh well, we still had fun.

Yep, Im working on a trip report. My back still isn't doing well, so its taking me longer then I would have hoped.

Oh no – I’m so sorry to hear about your back! I hope you start to feel better soon, and I totally didn’t mean to pressure you about writing a report!

This MUST happen! Carrie, you have to bring the hat next time you are up this way and we'll take a jaunt to Tiffany & Co. to snap some very glam shots of you in front of the store! That would be so great! I'm no Jenzy but, I can get it done.

OR... we could go to my Tiffany’s in Beverly Hills the next time you visit me! And then instead of a Danish, I could be eating a Sprinkles cupcake!!!! :rotfl:

How come I thought I got you a good amount of stuff, but when it's all laid out here, it doesn't look that great after all...:sad2: yet....:lmao:

Hey, it looked great to me! I really appreciate your thoughtfulness - and especially your helping me out with the toiletries!

OK, gang - the update is on its way, and it requires three posts... just throwing that out there in case Betsy is lurking around planning to break up the installment with her usual wisecracks! :rotfl:
