Wedding Consultation

We are in the beginning stages of planning a June 2008 wedding and are taking a vacation to WDW this December. We know this is well in advance but we were hoping to get some kind of consultation meeting with someone at Franck's to go over possible locations. I called today and the woman on the phone said this is not possible and we had to wait until 12 months out to meet.

I have read stories on these boards about people having consultations and even booking 18 months in advance.

Did I catch them at a bad time or was the info I was given correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a little confused on this process.

Thanks.

I am planning to get married Nov. 2008 and they told me a year too.. SO if you hear anything on planning 18 months in adv.. can you send me a message... thx a bunch

As far as I know the 18 month rule applies. You could always go through the wishbook on Disney's planning site and find locations that interest you. Then you can ask around on here or go through Disney maps to find those locations in Disney and scope them out on your December trip. You could take notes and come back here and ask questions, everyone loves to help out a fellow bride. You might not be able to find out the logistics from a Disney planner, but you would get a lot of helop on here. Good luck!!! pixiedust:

Cheeks605, I just had to say what an adorable couple you two are! Congrats.

To the OP I was told 12mnths or even less for an intimate.

I had mine about 18 months out! I just called DFTW and told them i was thinking about booking a wedding and could they get someone to call me back - never mentioned a date - and then when someone called back i arranged the visit with them no problems!

I would ring them, and say you havent thought of an exact date yet - if they ask for one say about 11months out, then when u speak to the sales manager you can arrange a meeting.

Oooo....good idea. I am just afraid because when I intially spoke to someone I said 2008 and you know Disney puts everything you say in the computer! ;)

But I could always call back and tell them that we are thinking about moving the date up.

I just didnt mention the date, and when they asked i simply said we are thinking about December or Jan - i didnt specify which year!!

We went for a site visit at around the 14 month mark. But Really NOTHING happens until the 12 month mark. You can see the sites but that is about it. For most of the venues you can go see them on yopur own if they won't take you. Even now we are at the 9 month mark and not much will go on planning wise until we sign our contract at the 8 month mark. Disney is very strict about contracts for custom weddings. If you are in park you can sign at 12 mos but most other sites (with a few exceptions) you cannot sign the contract until the 8 mo mark. This is when you send your deposit and really start planning! It doesn't hurt to try though good luck.
