Wedding Brides...Did you have "Something Old, Something New"...

Old: MIL's pearls

New: dress, veil, shoes, and a hanky to pass down to my kids

Borrowed: crinoline slip

Blue: forgot this one so my DH's cousin lent me a blue earring that I pinned to my bra!

Yes

Something old- my mother's wedding train. I used it on my dress as well.

Something new- my dress and veil

Something borrowed- a hankie that was my great grandmother's

Something blue- the garter

And don't forget the penny in your shoe!

Old - a diamond solitare necklace that was made from my Grandmothers engagement ring.

New - my dress

Borrowed - I carried the same rosary my MIL carried at her wedding.

Blue - my garter.

For my first wedding, yes. For this coming wedding, I'm not going to bother. It's a silly superstition anyway.

Old.............Pearls

Borrowed....................Petticoat

New...........................my dress

Blue..................garter

Old....... A crystal necklace that had belonged to my Grandmother

new.........dress

borrowed.....My Mom's diamond bracelet

blue.....toenails and my Mom made me a tiny pouch of blue material for my lucky sixpence and I put it in my shoe!

Old...a used dishtowel from my college roommate...let me explain ;) When she got married she had very sweaty palms after we got her dressed. So her mom handed her a ratty old dishtowel to dry her hands off before we got in the limo. Well needless to say, she was soooo nervous she would not let go of the thing, so we ended up tying it to her bouquet before she walked down the aisle and she was cool as a cucumber after that ::yes:: She ended up saving the towel and then passed it along to me at my shower.

New...gown, shoes, veil

Borrowed...my MOHs handkerchief that she carried at her wedding

Blue...I ended up with 2 "something blues" although that wasn't my orginal plan. My MOH's handkerchief had blue embrodiery on it so I was covered....now the funny part. We went to get our hair done and while I was waiting I decided to run to a nearby candy store to get some munchies. Well they had Jelly Belly beans and I just had to get my favs...margarita, strawberry cheesecake, tutti-frutti, etc. Well my all time fav is blueberry, so I got a bunch of those and I'm sure you can guess what happened next....BIG OL BLUE TONGUE :scared1: one hour before my wedding. I don't think I've ever brushed my teeth/tongue so much in my entire life :p

Old-grandmother's filagree and diamond necklace

new-dress and hat

borrowed-the 6 pence in my shoe

blue- unmentionables:D

I know I did, now I'm trying to remember what they were.

Old: I think this was my shoes. I wore ballet shoes, since my DH is only 1/2 inch taller than me, and I think I had worn them to another wedding earlier.
New: My dress
Borrowed: My necklace (from my maid of honor who wore it in her wedding
Blue: My garter (wedding colors were royal and powder blue)

old - my silver thumb ring

new - dress/veil

borrowed - nothing. eek. ah well

blue - my belly button ring was blue...as was one of my toe rings (it was a martini w/ blue crystals in it) :)

Old: My train was passed down for many generations

New: Dress

Borrowed: Jewlery

Blue: The silk in my garter was blue

Old: My shoes. I didn't see any point in buying new ones that weren't comfortable....nobody saw them anyway.

New: My dress and veil.

Borrowed: My SIL-to-be's pearl necklace.

Blue: I ended up with a double whammy on this, too. I wore diamond/sapphire earrings that my grandparents gave me along with a sapphire/pearl ring that my in-laws-to-be gave me. (I know diamonds, sapphires, and pearls all at once...ghastly!) I also had the blue undies!

Old- My grandmother's wedding ring on my right ring finger(given to me after the death of my grandfather, 6 years after the death of my grandmother)

New- Pearl & Diamond earrings my husband gave me for my bridal shower

Borrowed- Other grandmother's bracelet. She couldn't be at the wedding as she has alzheimer's, so I wore something of hers to keep her close to me.

Blue- My toenails! I was going to the Caribbean on my honeymoon, so I had my pedicure done with a light blue nail polish!!!

I think alot of families look at it more as a tradition, than a superstition - we do anyway! :D

I'm still racking my brains trying to remember one thing - I've got the "something new, borrowed and blue" but not old!

Something Old: my grandmother's wedding ring was sewn into my dress

Something New: I bought a new tiara (not that I had many old ones laying around, just that this was new)

Something Borrowed: a petticoat slip borrowed from my mother's friend

Something Blue: sapphire earrings (which happen to be my birthstone)

Old: My grandma's pearl earrings (givin to me after she died)

New: Dress

Borrowed: Lace hankerchief from my Mom that she pinned to the underskirt of my dress (was also my grandma's)

Blue: I painted my toenails blue...I went barefoot

Yes. Something old was a hanky of my grandmothers that I worked into my bouquet. Something new was my dress, something borrowed was a pearly bracelet from my friend, and something blue was my garter, which was blue and lacy.

Old: No idea, possibly some earrings I had.

New: Wedding Dress, Veil, & Shoes

Borrowed: A lace hankerchief from my Mum

Blue: A Garter
