though my wedding is nine months away, I'm starting to think about what I should do now or soon to get myself looking hot.

I'm working out and trying to eat right ( :rotfl2: lol) but what did you all do for your skin? did you do any special beauty regimen? maybe even a few months/weeks before your big day? I'm thinking of getting facials as I get closer to the date.

and also, what about makeup on the wedding day?

did you wear anything special? is there certain makeup that looks better in photos? did you go more natural or glam it up?

sorry there are so many questions in here! I'm just so excited and full of em!

thanks! :wave2:

Hi Luna99,

I haven't done anything special to be honest with you apart from started using a anti aging cream with a SPF in it to help tighten up my skin slightly. I am only mid 20's but thought i might as well start some time :)

My make up I have been to Clinique and have a full set of make up from them with all moisturisers etc.to give me more of a natural look. However if you are looking for a glam look I could recommend MAC as I love their make up.

Just go to a department store that has lots of make up stands on offer and as for trials.

Good luck and let us know if you have any tips :)

Nicci xx

Drink lots of water too! That will keep you hydrated, less stressed and will do wonders for the skin.

As my wedding is a little more than a year away (Jan 08), I really need to get on the taking better care of myself track!

I was thinking of getting a facial or 2 and having highlights done but other than that just eating helthy (or trying too :rotfl: )WORKING OUT AND DRINKING WATER. I have been using an eye cream from clinique as well.

I am having my makeup and hair done my Lisa (lisa's magical weddings) and I belive she uses MAC products if that helps!

I actually started using Proactive. Even though my skin isn't nearly as bad as it was in my teen years, I still wasn't happy with it. It has given my skin a smoothness and a glow that I have never seen. I was unsure when I ordered it and sort of did it on a whim. I am SO GLAD I did!

I also second the water and exercise comments :) :)

hey, luna99. i have worked at a salon and spa for years, and we see ALOT of brides come through. (and my pre-wedding course of treatment hasn't been too different and probably won't be!)

many of them start getting facials once a month or so. not only are they AMAZING for your skin, they are completely relaxing and rejuvenating. plan one at the end of a really hectic week of planning and meetings, etc. in order to unwind. or many of them also get massages to keep themselves relaxed and as de-stressed as possible. and some do both. :goodvibes

there are many different kinds of facials and facial products that cater to your skin type and lifestyle. Yonka skin care products from Paris are some of THE best around, but not every spa carries them. it's worth trying to find one that does.

and you might want to treat yourself to a make-up consultation with an artist at a salon. many of them do complimentary or low-cost consults (like they do at many department store make-up counters) and can give you lots of pointers about how to achieve the look you want. plus, if you have any questions or want to update your look, a salon make-up artist is usually just a phone call away (often unlike a make-up counter rep.)

i'm so sorry this is so long! i just have a lot to say since this is an area with which i deal every day! i hope this helps!

I agree with all these ladies and I would also like to add two products that are just TO DIE FOR! My biggest problem is under eye circles Lancome has created a cream called RÉNERGIE MICROLIFT EYE. Another one that makes your skin feel softer than you thought possible is from Estee Lauder called Idealist. I can't tell you what those two products used everyday do for my skin. Once I started using them people started to notice a difference in my skin. Good luck and I am sure you will be Gorgeous! :bride:

I use C.O. Bigelow clay mask and clay cleanser and it makes my skin so soft....I haven't had any breakouts even during my period....which is a milestone. I got it from Bath and Body Works.

Alsom I swear by MAC makeup......it is amazing and I never have to touch up during the day! Plus, it keeps my skin looking nice and not weighed down.

I won't even go into my fitness and dieting regimen.....it is a daily struggle!!! :rotfl:

I love Bare Escentuals make up - I use all of it and that is what I wore for my wedding too - I am not a heavy make up wearer but I really like that because I do not feel like I am caked!
