Wedding at Shades of Green

My fiancé and I are planning a Disney wedding in April or May of 2007. He is in the military and is set to be deployed sometime in the summer of 2007. We want to have a small wedding in Disney before he goes and then a larger one when he gets back at home. We are looking into the intimate at the Boardwalk for our first choice. I just notice that weddings are available at Shades of Green (the military resort there). Has anyone had or been to a wedding at SOG? Any information on it would be greatly appreciated. Congrats to you & your fiance. My fiance is in the Army (just coming off a 1 year tour in S. Korea), we are getting married at Sea Breeze Point on 05-22 this year.

I drove into Shades of Green while I was visiting Disney this last time, very beautiful.

Hey-

DH got out of the military in May. We're all too familiar with the goings on. We actually married at a courthouse before he deployed for the umpteenth time. I am sure SOG will be willing to work with you. Let us know if you need anything... there's a few of us here familiar with the military lifestyle. Support networks always help!

We looked into doing the rehearsal dinner at SOG. My uncle is current military, but we found the prices to be comparable to disney (minus the tax) and not as much flexibility. The resort is very peaceful and green (no pun intended)...

Thank you so much Kim. From the pictures SOG looks really beautiful but we have never been there. We are going to try to go down to Disney in a few months and see all the possible locations before we make any decisions. Good luck planning your wedding.
