Wedding and Magical Gatherings

Has anyone ever combined a DFTW with Magical Gatherings? My DF and I were thinking about using the MG options as other opportunities for the family to get together to enjoy the special offerings.

We are planning on doing the Epcot magical gathering and when my parents had their 25th vow renewal 3 years ago we did this gathering and it was AWESOME! We are trying to get some more information about this ourselves.

My fiancee and I are planning on a Christmas week wedding and recently found out that the private Dessert Illumination parties are not allowed during that Holiday week. I spoke with Magical Gathering office and they said that only groups that book through their office get the MG benefits. I am afraid if we book through MG office we would not receive the wedding package room discount. I am checking with the DFTW planner to see how if it all MG works with a DFTW.

We had a Grand gathering booked and did the Epcot, Int's dinner and dessert party. It was incredible. We were able to transfer our bounceback reservation to the Grand Gatherings dept.

From what I gather, a "bounceback" reservation is a special promotion offered at certain times of the year while you're staying at Disney to reserve next year's vacation with an incentive like Free Disney Dining, etc.
