I know at one time, there were a bunch of MA scrappers here....and some were close to a store in Oxford (later Auburn), MA. Unfortunately, I don't remember who the scrappers were. As you may or may not know, that store closed.

Today, I just came across a newspaper ad for a store in Webster, MA. This store is also off Rt 395 like the other one was. Its also right on the MA/CT border. I haven't been there yet. Has anyone? How is it?

Ohhh... I haven't been to the other one, but it's always nice to hear of new stores, lol. I'm in north central Mass (up by Gardner) so it would take me a bit to get there, but it might be worth it :)

Oooohhhh, I'm in CT but only about a 20 minute drive to Webster. I'll have to check it out some time.

OOOh, that makes for a great fall weekend day trip. Not that far from the Springfield area. Thanks for connecting me.

THe other store closed over a year ago. They were in Oxford then moved to Auburn.... and did a really rotten thing... they didn't tell folks they were closing after the New Year and they sold gift cards! My Mom bought one for me and we went the week of New Years.... there was already a sign on the door about going out of business. I made two more attempts to shop, but they were closed both times. So I ended up with a worthless gift card.... oh well. (They were close to my folks house, but 2 hrs from me.)

I'll have to check out the new place! Thanks for the heads up!..............P

I used to be on of those MA Scrappers! WAA! Wish I still was! New shop looks great!

Pjlla - Its too bad the other shop closed badly. She had a great store...but I dont think she really had her heart in it! They own another business in that area if you are looking for your $$ or to at least try. It was in Oxford and was an outdoor place...sheds and gazebos, I think.

Just wanted to let you all know that I visited this store today on my way back from a business meeting in Connecticut. It's definitely NOT worth making a special trip to visit it. It's VERY small and they didn't really have anything you couldn't find at other places. I had my doubts because I checked out the website and it was pretty bare bones. I do feel bad though - the owner was there (all dressed up) and she came out and greeted me and rattled off about 15 different sales they had on various product lines. I had a feeling I was the only customer, at least so far. I felt the need to buy a few things but I was really searching to find things I would use. I don't think this one will make it. :sad2:

Thanks for the update. I had been thinking of making the trip, so you saved me the drive. There is a fun scrapping store in Southern NH, Amandalinz, which is great to visit. I'm very bummed that I can't get there this Saturday because they hosting a scrapping/stamping yardsale. Cheap supplies and I'm going to miss it!!

I've been to Amandalinz once - it was a nice store.

As long as we're talking New England stores let me throw out a couple other names in case people are interested. Lighthouse Scrapbooking in Salem, NH is very nice - kind of small on space but they cram a lot in there. The only store I could really call a "Local" scrapbooking store for me is Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, MA. It isn't a pure scrapbooking store - it started out as a rubber stamping store and expanded in leaps and bounds into all sorts of creative arts, including scrapbooking. I actually try not to go there too often. It's too dangerous. ;)

And when I went down to CT I visited 4 other stores (thanks to some recommendations from BernardandMissBianca) besides Scrap n Style, because I am a scrap fanatic and that's what we do. :) A Time for Memories in North Grafton, MA; Memory Lane in Marlborough, CT; Scrapbook Clubouse in Westbrook, CT; and Magical Memories in Old Saybrook, CT all get two thumbs up.

We still need to go to the New England Scrapbook Co. in Canton CT. and Wiggles and Giggles in Rocky Hill CT. Love both of those!

The only time I drove to N.E. Scrapbook Co the mapquest directions were wrong. I'll have to see if they have been updated.

Definitely!

But I have to stop shopping and start scrapping. You know it's a problem when you buy so much stuff that you forget what you have! But then it's like a pleasant surprise when you find something in a drawer buried away. That's happened way too many times recently.

ITA w/the PP about the Webster store SOOOO not being worth it. I'm in CT but 5 minutes away and went a month or so back. It is TINY!!! And, yes, I was their only customer at the time, too! LOL!

Isn't there a scrapbooking store in Plainfield, CT? Anyone go there before? I usually stick to Michael's in Millbury, MA, and make a lot of my own embellishments, but I'm always on the hunt for new tools and papers...

I'm not sure about Plainfield but there is one in Central Village and in Jewett City. I haven't been to either one but I saw the one in Jewett City from the street and it looks nice. DH actually spotted it, the enabler!

Oh and there is craft store in Dayville called Craft Menagerie and they have a few scrapbooking supplies. I haven't been in for a few months though so I'm not sure if they have expanded or not. I shop there for cross stitch supplies.

A friend and my sister both told me that the Craft Menagerie was closing a month or so back... Haven't been in that neck of the woods lately myself, so I'm not sure if it's completely closed at this point.

Well that stinks! I might have to run up there this week to see what's up. They don't get many people in there but I hate to see independent craft stores go out of business.
