I'm looking at a first trip to US/IOA and I'm seeing something weird on the website. I figure I must be missing something obvious - can anyone help?

I go to the official website, under Florida resident offers, go to hotel offers, and input the day I want to stay. I get back one block that says (and I'll cut and paste this)

FLORIDA RESIDENT OFFER -
A Sunny offer for the Sunshine State! Not combinable with other discounts or offers

With great rates - $149 to $332 at the Royal Pacific. Then below that is another block. It says (again, I'll cut and paste)

FLORIDA RESIDENT OFFER!
Sunny offer for the Sunshine State! Not combinable with other discount offers.

But these rates are much higher - $224 to $427 for the same rooms.

What's the difference?

I get the same thing, but mine says $194/nt and $265/nt for June 18-20. I can't believe July 4th is cheaper! What the heck am I doing wrong?

I'm getting $169 per night total cost of stay with taxes-$338..

I see both rates. I've seen the same thing with the AP rates. I believe that the higher rates are released earlier in the year, and then the cheaper rates are released closer to the stay date. Use the cheaper rate.

I have an October trip planned but the current AP rate is higher than the AAA rate. I'm hoping that as we get closer to October, cheaper AP rates will become available. If they do, at that time, the US website will display the original AP rate as well the cheaper AP rate.

Thanks to everyone for your help. Looks like I'm putting together plans for my first trip to US!

I booked Fri-Mon July 4th weekend for $169+taxes at Royal Pacific.

It is also based on availability, so it could be that the week you are trying for has already sold all their Florida Res rate rooms. We ended up at the RPH and one room is at the Fl Res Rate of 149 for June 22nd to the 26th.

I booked by phone after seeing two sets of prices listed online... I asked what the difference was. I was told that there are two tiers of discounts, and the second (higher) set is what's available after the first (lower) set of discounts sell out.

I just had the same issue I booked one night online at royal pacific at the $149 rate for June 16, we decided we wanted to add a night and check in on the 15th. We'll the only rate available was the $249 rate, so I just called the Lowe's line and was able to add the other night at the same $149 rate.
Also I would check back daily on the rates because I have seen it where it was $249 and then the next day $149 was posted.
