I’m wondering is this is just us. We have 4 reservations coming up this summer, and 1/2 don’t show on the website.m

We have an ABD that used to be shown, but now it’s gone. We have a pre cruise SSR stay that not showing. We have 3 staterooms on the Fantasy and only 2 are showing. I didn’t want to call, so I tried chatting.

I was told that u can’t use a safari browser anymore to sign on bcs “it doesn’t show everything.” It’s true. When I logged on thru Safari none of our trips were shown. So, I downloaded the chrome browser as instructed and at least half the trips are shown.

This is ridiculous, I have never had problems using Safari in 17 years. There is no info that you can‘t browse with Safari and that I need to install Chrome. Lastly, I feel the only way to verify the vacations are by calling and spending hours on hold. I have confirmations.

i can’t be the only one?

Safari on my iPhone works fine. Don't have a Mac, so I can't say if Safari on a Mac works or not.

I think the rep spoke Hogwash. I just checked my DVC Dashboard with Safari on a MacBook Pro. Both my booked reservation and my waitlist both show up fine.

It was on an IPad. It’s unacceptable I’m having these problems with safari. Oh well, I guess I need to call … I’ll find 3 hours.

Try calling "late" (4:30-5 or so, EDT) in the day if you can...last 3 times I had to call (over the course of the last 2 weeks or so), I called then and had wait times of 5 minutes, 8 minutes and 3 minutes...seems to be a "sweet spot"...

MDE is wonkier than usual right now (and that's saying something)...I have a trip coming in June and I tried to cancel one park reservation and modify another one ... the site would show only the first day of my trip when I hit the "show details" button and instead of canceling/replacing, it added my modification as a second park reservation for me for that day...I tried other days and ultimately wound up with 2 park reservations for each day...called MS about it and they assured me I "couldn't do that"...then they looked at my MDE and were as bewildered as I was! They wound up fixing it (and it's still showing up as "fixed" 3 days later), but even MS was disconcerted by this!

Disney IT really is subpar...and having very long wait times when we're forced to call to address an issue makes it even worse...I was pretty happy to discover the wait times were MUCH better later in the day...good luck!

I just wonder what happened. I can’t guess what the pandemic did to them. Everyone everywhere took bad hits. Short staffing, changes. It’s been hard. But I can truly say Disney customer service is the worst “victim” of the pandemic I have come across. I’m not talking about the cast members I talk too when I get thru after 3 hour waits, they’re truly doing their best and have been helpful. I’m talking about the IT, user interface and platforms. It’s AWFUL. The waits times on the phones are disgraceful. The website doesn’t function in terms of basic capability. Sometimes, I can‘t even log in.

Its unacceptable that I was told a very common browser (safari) was unsupported and that I needed to download something else(Chrome). That’s unconscionable. How can older people figure that out? Fix your website and get some fixes on ur phone lines.

We pay too much for this horrible level of functionality. I can’t even think of any company - from government to airlines to utilities to major retailers- that has such a BAD non functioning digital platform. And I can’t think of any company or government branch that has such horrible wait times. Maybe the IRS? its a sad day when I compare Disney customer service to a much maligned (sometimes unfairly) branch of government.

it’s a vacation. Not a struggle.

I can think of 2 things that might factor into OP's situation:

1) The castmember was wrong in saying that the only thing causing OP's problem was trying to use Safari, and using Chrome would fix everything. This would not be the first time that a castmember gave out inaccurate information.

2) It had something to do with the version of Safari and/or the version of iOS on OP's iPad.
Whether too new or too old, MDE might not "play well" with it.

However, I agree that Disney's IT is terrible, that it is ridiculous for Disney to assume that their terrible IT can handle more and more functions, and that it is awful for the wait time to be hours for calling in when you have a problem with the terrible IT. I agree that planning and sometimes taking a Disney vacation is now a struggle.

I understand it’s frustrating and I can’t comment on why you were told that since many of us have no issue with safari.

But it has been given here as advice to try when issues happen. Maybe it was meant to be that? A suggestion to see if that could work for you?

In terms of wait times, plenty of other companies have them. I have had hour long waits for airlines too.

In the scheme of things, as long as you know the reservations are still active, the rest will get sorted out, hopefully soon?

My IOS is up to date.

We’re not sure the reservations are active at all. Because the cruise was booked with points from cancelled cruises, we can’t track the points thru the transactions page, which barely works. (that was another suggestion). We got an error message saying some transactions won’t be shown and to call customer service.

DCL shows 3 staterooms, DVC shows 2. I’ve spent hours on the phone dealing with it. No one has told me with certainty that we can be sure we have 3 staterooms, bcs the 2 systems “don’t always show the same thing.”

Anyway, thanks everyone.

I have never used the points for cruises in a long long time, and that was before an online system so I didn't even know they would show up there, or how it would look on the transaction statement. Did you try to change the dates on the transaction page to back when you first converted the points to reservation points? Since it sounds like they were converted awhile ago, maybe that is where you will see proof that they took points for the equivalent of the three cruises?

I know that loads slow...I had to print out and send for the sale of SSR and since I make so many modifications, it took me over 10 minutes to get all the pages since I just kept having to hit more at the bottom.

Just trying to think of other ideas to see if you can at least find the info. If DCL shows three, though, than I'd be more comforted by that than if it was the other way around...ugg...hopefully its straightened out soon for you.

Thanks for the advice! Its a big mess. Hopefully they’ll be 3 staterooms at the port. (only kidding, I’ll call and nail it down.)

Which leads me to another question. who should I call first? I think I’ll ask on another post!

That's nothing new. You have a start date shown as 2004. You should be used to this. Their websites have always been awful. Pretty, but terrible. They hire very young interns to do the work that managers who don't care tell them to do. Last I checked actual IT for Disney was in Seattle; I used to know two people who were lackluster at the company where my ex worked and were hired by Disney IT. They really didn't care about their jobs.

Yep.

Disney CMs loooooove to have you, basically, "jiggle the handle" to make things work. That's why people having issues with magic bands were told to delete the other MBs, because it jiggled the handle. It changed things up. Meanwhile, there were people like me with 20 active MBs and all of them worked just fine. Multiple active MBs was not the issue at all, or it would have hit EVERYONE with multiple active MBs.

And that's what "use a different browser" means here as well.

DCL shows 3 staterooms, DVC shows 2. I’ve spent hours on the phone dealing with it. No one has told me with certainty that we can be sure we have 3 staterooms, bcs the 2 systems “don’t always show the same thing.”

If the cruise line shows it correctly, why are you bothering with DVC?

Thanks for the comments Bumbershoot! I’ll try your tips and advice, and hopefully it will fix my issues. That’s what great about the DIS - you come here with problems/issues and people are so generous and helpful with solutions.
