I was checking on cruise path on our 12/7 cruise. I do this all the time to see how many catagory 4's are still open (you never know about that upgrade possiblity :) ) anyhow it said that disney's online reservations were closed for maintanence. I then checked disney's own site and got the same response when I went to check on availiablity and pricing.

Yes, all DCL computers are down for the remainder of the day. :)

I still have a fever and largengitus but my throat harly hurts anymore. I finished up my classes's report cards (not too hard to do on preschoolers) so now that I can not play around on cruisepath what else should I do :) I supposse I could start to get organized for the trip, make a packing list or something. Being housebound rots!

Ive been trying to get to "reservations" at DisneyCruiseLine.com for 2 weeks now and the main page opens, but not the reservation/get a quote page. It loads forever and never opens.

Ann, still bored? You could play with the bubblewrap.. Virtual Bubblewrap link!

MarkRG -
Your link to the virtual bubblewrap doesn't work, there's an additional http in front of the address.

Unless of course, you intended it to be that way.;)
The virtual bubblewrap site is touted as 'the ultimate in time wasting'. If you intended the link to be a 'nested ultimate time wasting device' it works fine. It brings up a blank webpage (which wastes time) before we eventually catch on and manually edit the address so that we can really get busy at wasting time. :teeth:

Here's a regular link to the bubblewrap site: http://www.urban75.com/Mag/bubble.html

About the problem with accessing the DCL Online Reservations System -

It is 'closed for maintenance' this evening. But there are lots of other times when it's difficult to get through on it, unless you use a 'direct route'. What I mean is, if you're using AOL or MSN or Compuserve or any other provider that creates their own 'shell' for use on the Internet, you could have problems that are difficult to clear.

If you're having problems getting in on more than one day, try using this method:

Connect to the Internet in your usual manner.

Open a separate Internet Explorer window outside of AOL or Compuserve or MSN (or whatever) and type in the address http://www.disneycruise.com and it might go through without further problems.

Sometimes when the ISP creates a shell for their users, it adds additional overhead to the task of reading websites. In that case, they're difficult to clear, since it's a subtle problem that's hard to determine if it's from AOL or from the Website.

hope that helps

P.S. - I just rechecked the DCL Online system and it was available again at 9:45pm EST Sunday evening.

Ummmm....:o
I can tell you I use AOL and I have IE. BUt I dont know if thats the browser I use.
I always just type in the address in the box on top of the AOL screen. Or I get to it through my favorites.
Id have no clue on how to find and use a different browser.

Redhead01 -

After you have AOL connected, minimize the AOL window so that it isn't showing on your screen.

Then go to Start, then Programs, then look through the list until you find 'Internet Explorer' and then click on it.

When Internet Explorer starts, maximize it to make it full screen.

In the address bar, enter ' www.disneycruise.com ' (without the quotes) and then press enter.

When you're finished with the DCL Online session, just click on the 'x' in the upper right corner to close out the Internet Explorer screen.

At any time, you can go back to your AOL session by double clicking on it in your Task Bar at the bottom of the screen.

When you're finished with your session, close out AOL like you normally do to release your connection.

hope that helps

This is a link to the Dreams Unlimited Cruise site. You can select any cruise line and any date and follow the prompts to get to the exact cruise you're interested in.
http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/dcruise/reservations1.html

It will show the next 8 cabins that are available in a particular cabin category. If it shows 8 available, you know there are at least that many. If it show less than 8, you know cabins are beginning to become scarce.

You have to keep in mind that the number of cabins available also depends on the number of guests in your party. If you want to just look for empty cabins, you should enter 2 adults. In other words, there could be 12 cabins available that will accomodate 2 adults but only 3 cabins that can accomodate 4 people, so it's a little tricky.

I'm not aware of any site that will tell you the total number of empty cabins or the number of cabins filled.

hope that helps
