Hi my daughter is begging me for this Webkinz thing. I looked on Ebay and the prices are like $15-20 or more for certain animals. Does anyone know where they sell them and if they have them are they worth it? It seems like she just needs a code or something to play a game online. I looked in Toys R Us yesterday and they said they don't sell them. Any advice would be great :) Thanks :rotfl:

i got DS 2 at our local hallmark store. They were $11 each.

They don't sell them in conventional toy stores. Check WebKinz.com or try your local Hallmark or card store. You need the code to play, and theyrun around $13 in store.

You can also get the smaller ones for around $6-7. If you go to their website there is a store locator. I found that my local Hallmark stores were hit the hardest and had few to choose from, but we found a gift store that wasn't in the mall that had plenty. DD9 loves hers...she actually asked if she could trade 7 of her Disney dollars she's been earning for regular money so she could get another one. LOL

you get a free year of internet site with it!

My kids love them, we have a local gift store that sell them, they are $10 and well worth it, the web site is great, and the animals cute.

The Lil Kins we pay $7 for and the larger Webkins we pay $11 for. DD has 8 of them right now. I get them at the local Hallmarks and Carlton card stores around here. I also got her the Sherbet one that came out for her Easter basket.

Hallmark's/american greetings..card stores
Pharmacies! think mom and pop type stores. They are fun and I have to say even I play online sometimes! for $11 worth it!
Oh and they are only good for a year- so maybe don't go crazy buying a bunch right up front- Does anyone know how much it will cost to just renew your subscription after the year?

DD just got hooked. She got the small bunny for 8, I bought the big pig for $11 and the small unicorn for $8 for her easter basket, I found them at a local florist shop.

I think it is great for DD, she has to budget her money, buy it food, etc.

Having a hard, hard time locating them around here.... (used the store locator on the webkinz site and everybody is sold out-there are waiting lists in some of the "country" stores awaiting shipments.... ) It's insane... reminds me of the days of the original cabbage patch dolls :rotfl: I ended up ordering some for our 2 girls for their Easter baskets from www.bealls.com (2 for each) and I got the confirmation that they were shipped yesterday :thumbsup2 They were each $12.99 and for the 4 to ship it was $7.95. Still cheaper that what I've seen on ebay!

In our town they are sold at the local toy store (independently owned)- the larger ones are $10. The store manager was telling us what a craze this is turning into and how they are flying out the store. She has been shipping them all over the US. She had a list of over 120 people interested in the black lab when it came in. She had about 12 different type animals in stock last week.

It reminds me of the Beany Baby craze - my girls just got their first ones, a black lab (I happened to walk in 20 minutes after 36 were put out and got number 30!) and a tiger. They are having lots of fun with them.

Good Luck - I think the locater at the WEbkinz site is going to be your best bet.

DD got a kitty for christmas. She hasn't paid any attention to it, so it will be going in to the garage sale pile if i can find it. They are sold by GANZ so any gift shop that carrys Ganz products should be able to order them for you.

my DS is dying for a koala webkinz for his upcoming birthday. I have searched high and low for this thing. I know they are on Ebay, but I am not paying $30 plus shipping for a $12 toy.

If anyone finds one any online, please let me know. I have checked Carleton and Hallmark, and the Webkinz site almost every day. But, so far a no go!

I work in a store that sells Webkinz, and we are having a hard time keeping them in stock. We just got some yesterday, but only 2 kinds. It seems that the company is having a hard time keeping up with the demand, or so they tell us. We have many, many ordered, but we don't seem to get very many. They say things are very backed up. We have had them for probably close to 2 years, but they didn't really start to sell until the last 6-8 months. Now they go pretty quickly.

Gift shop and party stores typicall carry these, but Ganz is behind due to a shutdown at Christmas (time off for all employees). If you can find them in the stores, they run around $10-12 for full size and $8-10 for Lil'Kinz.

We got ours at Hallmark for $11. You get a year of free playing - there are tons of games and my DDs play online with their cousins. You can invite people over to your house, etc. but you can only say scripted things so it is safe. My kids love it and it is a great motivator now - no Webkinz if you don't do your chores :rotfl2: It has been great so far for the family.

I also work at the local Hallmark store, and we can't keep them in the store. They are in such high demand that the manufacturer can't keep up. We have been waiting about 4 weeks now for a shipment and finally got a shipment in last friday. Just 1 kind which totals 12 and they were sold out by Monday morning. Our store sells them for $10.95 for the large ones and about $8.00 for the small ones.

I hear the kids love playing on the web with them.

My son's class has one for a "class pet". I hadn't seen what a webkinz did online until tonight when it was his turn to "bring it home" to play with (just a username & password) It's cute... reminds me of VMK but with animals.

Hallmarks around here carry them for about $8-$12. You can usually call them and ask if they have any in stock & if they do have one put aside to pickup on the way home. They're the new Beanie Baby I guess. Stock up now for Christmas!

DD loves them. She has lots of fun decorating their house, each code gives you different things. Like the Love Puppy at Valentines Day come with a sofa I think. She has the Sherbert bunny for Easter and it's very cute, several cats and dogs and frogs as well. She keeps adding rooms onto her house. You can rearrange the furniture too. They have a patio with a pool and each animal has it's own chair. I pay $9.99 at the small craft store and they are $10.99 at Hallmarks. They are in all the Hallmark stores around here and quite the craze.

They have them at the hospital card-store here. Better selection than they have at most of the hallmark stores.
