Web Slingers -- disappointed!

Just back from a 5 night trip (too long, as it turned out) trip the DLR. We had originally picked two start-in-DCA days, but after rope dropping + early entry-ing on one day, we moved the other DCA day to a DL day.

Web Slingers, which my Spiderman loving kiddo was really excited about was ... a big disappointment! It was just a silly video game. Not even any motion effects, just the videos/scrims and the motion capture shooting. After riding it, we rode Mater's Jamboree, and all declared that to be a better ride!

My kiddo did love Buzz and Midway Mania, so it wasn't that it was a video game ride, it was the build up of it as something special that we had to get up early for, and then the "oh, is that all there is?"

Especially contrasted with the intense amazing Rise of the Resistance....yeah, seems a big failure for DCA.

I'm with you. My daughter was super pumped and still wants to go on it. But we all know it's about Tom Holland and not the actual ride. The tech is cool. But I think it's just another mid-level video game ride that gets way too much attention.

That seems to be the consensus on the DIS, but our family really enjoys it. In fact, it's one of the reasons we do park hoppers (we enjoy other rides, but that one is our main draw). We weren't sure what to expect the first time we rode it as I avoided spoilers, but were pleasantly surprised.

Funnily enough, we aren't even Spiderman fans lol

We rode it 2 or 3 times during our last trip (November 2021) and were pretty underwhelmed. Won't rush to do it again in future trips.

I'm so not interested. I've not gone on it but I don't go on the video game-style rides because it messes with my head (migraines). Even if I didn't have migraine issues, I just find those rides to be a terrible waste of Disney space.

I agree that the lack of shade and tons heat radiant concrete in the line is absolutely brutal. But we love the ride (though would never consider buying the add-on tech)- so interesting the mixed opinions on WS (and agree that consensus leans meh).

Put me in the "meh" crowd as well...it seems like it could be fun but would take a lot of practice to get proficient at mastering the skills needed and figuring out all the hidden secrets...especially when you are PAYING to wait in line!

I really like Webslingers and so do my kids, but I would never pay for it nor wait more than 20 minutes in the ghastly hell that is the WS queue. This means we don't ride it often. I appreciate it for what it is, but I wish Disney would do away with the ILL for it. The standby queue moves great when there is no ILL ruining it.

I'm with you...my wife are both super competitive and really enjoy this ride but its def not worth paying a LL for or waiting over 30 minutes for

We enjoyed it far more than I thought we would. We did ride it via single rider so we waited only like 10 minutes, I wouldn't wait more than 20 min either.

What I don't understand about the ride is this.......why don't they do a "ride pic"? They sell Spiderman themed frames in the shop outside....but they can't seem to do a ride pic on pretty static ride? Missed opportunity.

That said, I tell people that it's Marvel's version of Toy Story Midway Mania. LOL

Maybe I had low expectations as everyone complains about it.
My family and I liked WS quite a bit and rode it twice.
With that said, I would not pay U$ 20.00 per person to ride it. I would pay that to go on Rise of the Resistance if it was super busy at DL.

Mater's is definitely much more fun than it looks.

Web Slingers is one of those rides that's not good enough for the wait time. If you're an infrequent visitor to the parks, it's kind of a one and done type of ride.

Video game rides have more re-ride value once you go to the parks often enough but it's impossible to find a good time of day to practice. For Midway Mania, you can usually get at least 4 rides in at the beginning of the day with less than 15 minutes wait each while for Astro Blasters, you're getting near walk ons at the beginning and end of the day. Even with Web Slingers single rider, you often can't do more than 2 rides per hour.

Yeah, it's okay, but I don't love it. It's like Toy Story mania on steroids - and I don't love TSM anyway. Keep in mind that this was intended to be the "B-Ride" for the land with thw A-Ride still unbuilt, though it was announced that they are commencing on it at D23 (though it is likely different than originally conceived). I think Webslingers is fine for a sub 30-minute wait, but, yeah, I wouldn't want to go higher than that for sure.

I enjoy the attraction, but agree that it’s not worth an ILL. I wouldn’t mind a 20-minute wait for it, but the way the line is now with the longer waits due to ILL, it’s not worth it, and to me, it’s one of those attractions you need to practice on so you can improve your play. Paying one time, especially for newcomers is just too much. I wouldn’t call it a failure, though. I like it better than the Millenium Falcon over in Batuu.
