web sites you use for cheap flights FROM UK to USA.....

Hello!

I am trying to help find flights for my BIL to come over from UK to LA - I know all the web sites in America to use, but I didn't know what web sites to search in the UK -

Do you find the UK travel sites are cheaper? Or do you buy from US travel sites - Looking to book a Christmas flight (I know, last minute) so any help would be appreciated!

Hi Karen.
Depending on dates you might find it a struggle to find reasonable priced flights now for Xmas. I did a search for 25th Dec return 2nd Jan to Orlando cheapest coach class with 1 stop £1,230 ($2,030), cheapest direct flight £2,230 ($3,680)
We have a UK version of Kayak (www.kayak.co.uk) I also use travelsupermarket.com
I also check Orbitz.com sometimes its cheaper to book on US site like Orbitz but only rarely.
If you want to post dates and airports I will have a quick look around for you.

I use Kayak in the US, so I briefly tried kayak UK -

If you want to help me look, that would be great! Dates are Dec 25th - Jan 8-12 (return can be any of those dates) From LHR to LAX or MAN to LAX, but no more than 1 stop - it's for my 17 year old nephew -

Had a search around, looks like cheapest day is to return on Monday 11th so concentrated on that date.
Manchester there is no direct flights, indirect 1 stop around £455
London Heathrow 1 stop £456, direct £521 with BA.
All these were on Kayak.co.uk
It came up with an option on Netflights.com who I use often, direct outbound, indirect return for £464

Last one I just checked Travelocity.com
The BA direct flights are showing at $818 which works out slightly better than above at £498 or another option again direct outbound, indirect return for $766 (£467) could be same as Netflights route at £464, didn't check.

I think quite good prices, done LAX twice, once from London, once from Manchester paid around these prices 2 & 3 years ago.
