So - how accurate is the weather.com forecast?? We will arrive in WDW in Saturday and the weather posted shows rain rain rain. Now, I know that it frequently rains during the day but, if it says "scattered storms, 50-60% chance precip", should I be worried????? I have our ponchos packed and we arent afraid of a little rain but I dont want our entire vacation to be ruined by precip!!!!!!!!!!! :earboy2:

Thanks for the input!!

I have found weather.com to be inaccurate. I like accuweather.com a little better. I had two instances in May in which weather.com was totally off. First was our trip to disney, they had it raining 4 out of 5 days with the chance of rain 40-60%. It rained for two hours one night. The other was for the Indy 500. They had a 60% chance of rain all afternoon with a high of 70. I was a beautiful sunny day and it was hot! Needless to say, I didn't dress appropriately. Some of the vendors ran out of bottled water and we were laughing saying they probably checked weather.com and didn't think there would be a big need for bottled water. :)

www.wunderground.com is my personal favorite.

I grew up in Michigan, and I've noticed a bit of a difference in the weather forecasting between MI and FL. In MI, if a forecast called for rain, it meant at least 2 hours of rain. Here in FL, if the forecast calls for rain, it means at least 2 drops of rain.

I just got back from a nine day stay(05/27-06/05 and it rained everyday. The worse days were this past Friday and Saturday. It was a light rain and kept things a little cooler and the crowds a little light. I weather forcast for next week was about the same 40-50% of rain each day.

The weather has been awful here in Orlando...I can't remember one day this past week that I didn't wake up to steady rain and thunder. We attempted Epcot yesterday but it was raining once again. Rain, rain go away!!!!!!

They say things are going to be more like the typical Florida summer pattern starting this next week. Clear and warm in the mornings, hot in the afternoon with a chance of isolated thunderstorms and clear evenings. There is no way to know exactly who will be affected by the afternoon storms, but they usually don't last long. The steady rain pattern is supposed to be over.

It has been very rainy in Florida the last few days but that system is moving away.

It its place you'll find just the "usual" afternoon thunderstorms, usually lasting between 15 minutes and a couple of hours almost every day!

It was a nice day today
But has been rainy all week and a bit cool
The pool is a bit to cold for me and DW but DSs like it
1 week down 3 to go hopeing for better weather

Definitely check out that site for the local forecast. They were very accurate. Pack those ponchos with you while at the park, you never know when an afternoon shower will sneak up on you. My advice is to buy the good Disney poncho instead of the disposable ones.

We were there May 27 through June 4 and it rained May 31 through June 4, but off and on through out the days.

Just got back from 8 days at the world, so feel free to ask me questions about weather, crowds, etc...

Thanks everyone! WEll, what will be, will be!! lol We are not afraid of a little rain!!!!!!

See you on Saturday, Disney Dude!!! I will be the one carting around 2 kids and a husband. I am sure you will be able to pick me out!! :rotfl2:

I previously posted on another thread that when it rained in the parks was when DH and I had the time of our lives! Everyone would leave and we just threw our ponchos on and did everything that the lines had been too long to ride just a few moments earlier! We rode Splash Mountain four or five times without having to get off, and even then we got off by choice! So if it rains, it rains. You could be in the rain at WDW on in the rain at home! :sunny:

Thanks for the posts of the local weather stations...excellent! One even verbally gave the forcast! PRAY FOR EXTENDED DRY SPELLS AND SUN AND SHORT RAIN IF THERE HAS TO BE SOME!!!
