Hello I am new to the site :yay:

We are planning our first trip to orlando on 26th September for 2 weeks and cannot wait though we are a little unsure what to expect weather wise. I realise that it's the tail end of hurricane season so should we expect a lot of rain or will we see the sun ( not used to seeing it in the UK ).

You probably have answered this question hundreds of time so i apologise but desperate to not have to take everything in the suitcase :laundy:

Thanks for any advice you can offer :)

Hi Vana - welcome to the Dis!!
The weather will still be hot and sunny- so don't worry get packing those shorts! you will have less rain as usually in the summer months- july august it rains in the afternoons just for around half an hour to cool you down, and then back to blazing sunshine! september is a lovely month to go!
Last year we went on the 26th oct and some days it was 95%, not much rain either if any.
my sil and family are also going on the 26th from Manchester and we are folowing them out and going on the 7th October.
ask away any questions you want thats what the boards are for! :thumbsup2

:cool1: Welcome to the Dis :cool1:
Completley agree with Jeanette, pack all your summer tops, shorts, skirts.Pack at least one cardi/hoodie as a just in case,as it can be very cool in the evenings in the restaurants with the air con being on+some people find it a little too cool.x.

Hello Netty thank you for the welcome

I am so looking excited about going was just a little concerned with these terrible hurricanes :(

We decided this year with the pound being strong against the dollar to buy a lot of clothing, just normal shorts, skirts, t-shirts and swim wear out in orlando though not the designer kind the if it last the holiday ;) kind. I have read there are a lot of malls but they seem designer I presume we can do what we wanted and just spend less buying in the USA than UK ?

I wouldnt say they were all designer at the malls, but at the mo there are all the end of season sales in the uk shops it would probably be as cheap here to buy your clothes.
lbv mall has loads of great shops there dead cheap,

We too are going out on the 26th September:cool1: , no winter woolies or rain coats in my suit case. But agree with Michelle best take light cardi/hoodie as the resturants can be freezing with the aircon blastin away have heard people complain in past about air conditioning being on to high !!We have been a few time at this time of year it is one of our favourite times to go so much so next year we are going on exactly same dates !    Not long now can hardly wait !!
Hope you have a great holiday we are flying direct from Glasgow.

Thank you for the link :)

We are staying on offsite on international Drive as it was cheaper and we can then see a few things as well, my hubby wants to watch the space shuttle launch which is due early October about 6th.

We are not sure on what passes for Disney yet will be looking on this site for more information later tonight.

yet we were there until the 10 november and found it cooler the day and night before we were leaving!!
must agree about the air-conditioning though- i find it too cold in the restaurants even in august when we have been!!

We are staying at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites no idea whether its nice or not :confused3 we are on a budget this year and was either cheaper accommodation or no holiday this year and as we will just be sleeping there it should not be too bad, going to try to attach a picture if I can .

Oh no attach link :( how would I attach a picture ?

Welcome to the Dis :thumbsup2

We have been the last 3 years in Sept and it's been hot, although you may need a poncho for the rain. As you can see from the photo people still in t shirts at midnight

Hiya.:goodvibes The hurricane season actually finishes in November, I believe. No one can really guarantee the weather. The last 4 years we have been in July/August and the weather has been different each time, from seeing no rain to seeing rain most days.

I usually travel in a light fleece which is handy for cooler air conditioning places or if you just feel a touch on the chilled side (which can happen in July). I have a poncho which I use if it is bucketing down. Last year it rained all of one of our days in AK, in other years we had got drenched before but the sun soon came out and dried us up. However, last year was different we got soaked to the skin and the sun didn't come out, we were freezing, ended up buying ponchos and we ended up having condensation inside them. It wasn't pleasant.

I would just take summer clothes with a light fleece/cardigan or the like just in case it gets chilly. There are plenty of shops to buy clothes if you get desperate for anything else.

Thank you for the welcome :yay:

Good advice there I will take summer, cardi and a poncho would be good for downpours though I do not own one I am sure I can buy one there. Guess we shall just have to learn to dry out if needs be :rotfl2:

Don't bother buying a plastic poncho over here, there are loads over there. Usually sold from under the counter in the parks so just ask if you need one if it starts to rain heavy.
