I kept an eye on it this year and it seemed the week we are planning to stay next year (1/28-2/4) the weather was pretty nice near WDW. It seemed to mostly be in the 60s or even 70s some days. Does this seem common or was it uncommonly nice this year?

I know up here (Pennsylvania) we had a pretty short and mild winter despite record snowfall.

Depends on El Nino or La Nina.
Depends on where the cold fronts are at that time of year.
Depends on the jet stream and where it is at that week.
You pay your monies and take your chances.
In other words, it could be anywhere from the upper teens at night to 90s in the day. It could be rainy, sun shine, snow (yes, we get snow here sometimes), cold, hot, or any combination of these.

I would give you a 70% chance that the weather will be the same as you experienced, and I 30 percent chance that the weather will be colder
and a little wet. When I make winter plans in Florida for 7 days I usually get 5 days nice weather and two days not so nice!

I've gone twice around that time. One time was sunny and near 80, another time was cold and rainy. It's a roll of the dice that time of year.

If you can find it on the re-imagined wunderground.com website, they have historic weather for any site. They have a Trip Planner which will go back as far as they have data.

The issue is that they've hidden the Trip Planner. I believe a link to it still exists on the calendar page of a given site.

I live down here, and winter is the worst. One day it's in the 30-40s and the next it's in the 80s. So everyone is constantly sick from Mid Nov to March.

I live close enough to WDW to hear the fireworks and have lived here almost 20 years. I do agree with most of the above posts. What I have always told people coming to central FL in the winter is this:

-Bring your swimsuit, shorts and tees. But make sure to bring long pants, clothes to layer and a light to medium weight jacket in case we get a cold snap. While Kimly is correct that our winters can vary, those 30-40 degree temps really only happen during the night and few of those in any given winter. I can't recall more than a couple of days in all the years I've lived here where even if we did get near frost temps at night that our daytime high wasn't around the 50's mark. IOW, we only see maybe 2 or 3 nights where it might frost here. I don't recall seeing any this year. Winter time in Florida is the main reason I live here as the weather is glorious. Spectacularly beautiful weather for the most part. Low humidity, lots of sunshine (winter is our dry season) and almost every day will be one where you will need no more than a light jacket in the morning hours.

When we do get a cold snap it is usually just 1-3 days or so but for whatever reason when it is cold here, it just feels extra cold. Maybe it's my now "thin" FL blood. :cutie: So come prepared for a little cold in case it does happen but in all likelihood you will have very mild, pretty weather. Happy planning! :sunny:

Useful info. Thanks!

Been there late January through early February three times.Twice the weather was ideal (except for swimming) with daily temps in the low to mid seventies, evenings cool (light jacket) but not cold, and there was very little rain. The third time there was one day of all day and evening drizzle, some rain five of the 8 days, mostly cool daily temperatures from the high 50s to low 60's, except for one cold day where the high barely got to 50.

Have to agree with drusba about the swimming part. Not ideal swimming weather at WDW from mid December to mid March. The daytime temperatures in the mid 70's are delightful though! But no swimming... Too spoiled by high 80's pool temps since living in Southwest Florida.
