Weather question

Hi everyone, I'm a longtime lurker with a question I hope someone can help with. Just for a bit of background ...........Yesterday I was offered a job with a salary at least sort of comparable to my old (read "downsized") job. I was a good girl and banked all that unemployment money collected while on severance and I went out and got a new (read "much lower paying" ) job just as soon as serverance ran out. We've been sitting on that unemployment money in case the new job lasted longer then we hoped but..................NOW I GET TO SPEND IT!!!!!!!!!!! (read "Disney cruise here we come!) Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference in the weather between late October and early December. I love the parks (where we'll also spend a couple of days) at Christmas but I wouldn't trade the decorations for better weather. Can anyone tell me if there is a noticable difference? This is probably the last "family" vacation we'll take as our oldest daughter graduates from college in May. She'll probably be relocating and getting on with her grown-up life so I want everything to be as perfect as can be. Also our 12 year old son has never forgiven us for going solo on the Disney cruise two years ago. He says we owe him big time and this better make up for it I'd appreciate any advice you all can give. Thanks! inkbounc

We will be cruising for the first time in October, so can not yet comment on that. I have been in other parts of Florida in November (have a conference this year in Orlando) and the weather has been both good, and dreadful (Tropical Storm Gordon.) We have been to WDW several times in October and the weather has been a bit of everything. In one week you can have hot muggy weather where it storms in the P.M. (more rain than we have ever seen, during a drought, no less, while the Everglades burned). We have had gorgeous days, both cool and warm. It can be just cool enough to enjoy NOT going swimming yet the next day a pool feels good. You can have fog and... Well anything. Carry a jacket and a poncho, wear Tevas or surf mocs if it rains, and you will be all set. The parks are not terribly crowded (about medium) but you will get the park to yourself if it storms. January is the same, but cooler, read blue and shivering for the water parks. Figure December the same (although no first hand knowledge of this). We are making our third October visit, if returns are any indication to you.

We did our second disney cruise last Dec. 8th and are going this dec.7th. I would highly recommend it in Dec. The ship is just beautiful, with a tree that goes up two stories , wreaths and garland everywhere.. it is breathtaking. As for the weather, we did the eastern last time and are doing the western this time. It was in the 80's all week and balmy.There were some quick showers in port in St. Thomas but nothing at sea.
