How do you plan for the unpredictable weather in FL this time of year? I have checked websites like accuforecast for 15 day forecast, but that only gets us halfway thru our trip that we leave for in a week. I have much of our t's and shorts packed as well as one sweatshirt each, but would like to get that DONE soon as we leave in a week...if I waited for most of the online forecast stuff, I would need to be packing the day we LEAVE. Anyone have other websites that do forecasts longer than 7 days out (we're there for 10 days)?
THANKS

I just came back from down there. I was visiting a good friend who lives there. I brought two sweatshirts and one pair of long pants. Also, had shorts and t's with some capri's. The only time I had to have a sweatshirt on was one night. The rest of the time I was in shorts, it was in the low 80's during the day. Night got down to the 60's maybe. That's when I would were the capri's(sp?). I know they are having a cold spell now, but that means low to mid 70's. I wish our cold spells were in the low 70's. I am so cold :cold: now, low 40's up here. I would go with one sweatshirt and a pair of long pants. The rest shorts and t's.

Sorry I don't know any other weather websites :surfweb: , I use the weather channel one. I think they just do 9 days, weather.com is the site.

Have fun and enjoy, :wave2:

Are you SERIOUSLY looking at an extended weather forecast as something that WILL happen in central Florida?

:rotfl2:

(I'm laughing at the IDEA of such a thing... We live in Missouri where storm clouds (and tornadoes) can simply APPEAR overhead sometimes without a moment's notice.)

I see you live in WA so you must be used to "unpredictable" weather.

So don't worry about the forecast longer than say 8-12 hours out.

You'll be wise to pack for RAIN and SUN and possible WINDY and CHILLY night temperatures.

Don't wait, just pack it all... so you'll be ready for fun under all conditions.

Here's what I do: I hate doing laundry, I f I can help it. For a stay longer than a week, it's hard to avoid.

I wear one pair of jeans (in the airport), and depending on how long you are staying, and what type of clothes you normally wear (I know older ladies tend to limit how much they wear shorts, some people are more sensitive to cold) maybe bring a second pair. We tend to wear shorts in the day, and switch to pants in the evening. If you are not the type to stay in the parks until late, you might not need to put on pants. If you plan on sit down dinners, long lightweight pants are nice for the evenings, but only if you have a chance to put them on. The parks can get pretty windy too, especially when you are standing around watching Illuminations or riding a boat. The temps often drop quickly after the sun sets.
I also like to wear a sweater in the highly air conditioned places. So most days, I bring a light weight sweater or sweatshirt with me. A sweatshirt in a dark color with a hood is a good choice. It will even survive light rain. No clothing will survive baby spit up, chocolate, etc. If you have small kids in your group- I'd opt for a few extra alternatives. I'd bring at least one back up sweater or sweatshirt for a week long stay (or a jacket, cover-up shirt). It's also handy for the flight!
My sister's daughter puked on her only pair of jeans at the airport one time (only carsickness, thank goodness!) We had to do laundry. She certianly couldn't wear them with vomit all over them!
Also, if at least one of your pairs of shorts are denim, that helps if you need to wear them twice.
I find though that my favorite clothing to wear in Orlando is clothes with extra pockets that zip or button. It's nice to have your room key and a cerdit card on your person at all times. I really like a pair of long khaki shorts or capri pants.
I do find Accuwaether to be one of the better sites. No site is 100%, but Ive had pretty good luck. Sure, check it now, and check it again before you go. The one thing we really use the tv for while we're there is to double check the weather report each morning.

Another thing that can come in handy - if you have it - is something silk- underwear, shirts. You can wash it in the sink, blot it with a towel, hit it with the hairdryer- and boom - you've got somethign clean and dry in a matter of minutes (or overnight)!

Actually, where we live in WA state, we don't get "unpredictable" weather. We live on the "other side" of the hills (cascades) and know exactly what's coming our way most of the time (SUN).

I was hoping to not have to pack it "all" since I'm trying to pack as lightly as possible since I need at least one luggage for my shopping!

I think I'll rethink and add an extra sweater/pant combo for everyone.
THANKS ALL

Better to ovepack a bit and be equipped to enjoy a chilly night out... rather than huddle in your room.

We always take an extra collapsible suitcase for souvies... but we also take advantage of Disney's SHIPPING service.

Whatever you buy can be shipped home by Disney.
We get back home and our purchases arrive in just a few days.

Like getting PRESENTS from WDW.

Have a great trip!
