Hey guys I have a weather question. We're headed to DL next week and the forecast is calling for Sunny & 79 all the days we're there. We're from Southern cali but the climate is slightly different here so I'm not sure what it will "feel" like there and I really want to go on Splash & GRR but I'm worried being wet might make it too cold :cold: and we'll end up having to make a trip back to the room..So for those of you that frequently go in october will it be warm enough to go on these rides? I finally got brave enough to ride Splash in Aug & I'd hate to miss it :sad2:

Wear a poncho, wear a poncho, wear a poncho....

And bring a change of shoes with you.

I agree with PP. I am about 1 hour south of DL, and even though it says 79 degrees, the wind chill is more like 68-70, which is still warm, but cold if you are wet! I always wear flips to the parks and bring warmer shoes for night time.

I say go for the wet rides, but only if you have a poncho!

Thanks for the info :thumbsup2 , luckily we still have the ponchos we bought at the park in April, guess I need to dig them out & pack them.

Being a very wimpy so cal person, I don't go on the water rides unless the temps are in the 90s or above. I was raised in Bakersfield, and yes, it does get cooler in Bakersfield in the fall and winter, but my body always stayed used to the very warm summer temps. I remember coming from Bakersfield to DL during the summer months and feeling very cold in the evenings since Bakersfield doesn't cool off in the evenings during the summer like Anaheim does. I live in Santa Clarita now, and no one in our area goes in the pool after the beginning of September, too cold for us. So yes, if you really want to ride those rides, get a poncho.

We always go in October. I'm a weenie when it comes to being cold, and I'm always just fine in DL in Oct as long as I have warmer clothes for evening/night and wear a poncho on the water rides. I just buy the ones at the Dollar Tree that are in a 2-pack. They pack easily and we just toss them when we're done. Oh, and on GRR, make sure your pant legs are covered and lift your feet if you're wearing tennis shoes.

We'll be leaving next Friday (12th)--can't wait :cool1: Here's to all of us staying warm and dry!

Same for Splash, or at least that was my experience when I went on Splash as my last ride that night! Poncho kept me dry, all the way down to, but not including, my shoes. Squish, squelch, squish...

how much are the ponchos at DLR? i'm so busy this weekend with getting the pets taken to their appropriate sitters, packing, etc...i don't know if i'll have time to go to the dollar store, its 30 min away...

It's been a while since I bought mine there, but I think they were $5, not totally sure I'm right though.

Well, in '05 we got caught in a huge rainstorm, and the total of a poncho and umbrella (both blue, with Disneyland Resorts logo on them) was around $30 in the store near Indiana Jones.

Not sure what portion was the poncho...but I'd highly recommend finding some BEFORE getting to DL...

I was just talking to my son about this. He was saying he can't wait to go on Splash again. It's been a while since we've gone in the cooler weather. We don't have ponchos. I'd be curious to know how much they are at DL too?

I think it was $7 a piece for them, I do know we got 4 of them for about $30-ish
