Can anyone tell us what the weather is like in Dec the first 2 weeks.

We have travelled before the first week in Dec but it was years ago.

Is it more like jeans and tops to wear, rather the norm of shorts and t.shirts.

Also we are not using a car this trip, it is going to be a totally relaxing (if you can in WDW). We felt like just using WDW transport and eating in the parks. We will be spending 1 day shopping, we normally shop at the premium outlets.

Any suggestions on new places to shop, we like the sports shops for trainers, and designer names for clothes.

Which shopping area will be the closest and cheapest by taxi.

Cheers for any info

We went in mid - December 1997 for nearly 3 weeks and it was VERY COLD the first 2 weeks - frost most mornings, biting winds, some rain and the temp was rarely above 40F. The first week of Jan (our last week) it went up to 80F so you really can't tell.

Far from jeans and tops, we needed scarves, hats, gloves, warm coats (fleeces were not enough) and thick, thick socks.

Personally it spoiled it for us and we'd be reluctant to go in winter again.

 Hello Princess Jackson we went 28/11/04 to 11/12/04 and the weather was nice. On an evening we would take a jumper out be we rarely needed them.

As for the shopping I supose it depends where you are staying we visited the Florida mall which was a good day out shopping. We flew with Virgin and they had a ticket you could buy for $13 each which paid for your transport to and from the mall.

Hope This info is of use to you.

P.S The theming at christmas time is wonderful. Its just strange hearing christmas carols when you are walking around in 80 degree heat. Especially when we are used to it being freezing cold at home. :earsboy:

In December 2000 the weather changed from mid 80's to a very cold snap with frost (all the flowers in the parks had to be replaced and the gardeners put up signs apologising as "Jack Frost" had made a visit!!). We went from shorts and t-shirts to as many fleeces as we could buy!!!! I think that was excetionally cold for Florida though.

Over Christmas/New Year this year (2004/5) the weather was more "normal". Mostly warm (not hot), cooler in the mornings and evenings.

I think you need to pack a bit of everything - pack as if you were going on a summer holiday in the UK and you won't go far wrong!!!

That sounds about right! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We're also going first 2 weeks in December.

Would we need to pack sun tan cream - Or am i just living in hope!!!

we were there in 2000..November/december.

We took completely the wrong clothes.. and it was freezing in the mornings and evenings. Afternoons were warm (shorts t shirt weather!) - but we didnt manage to go swimming once.. it was way too cold for us!

Changeable is how I would describe it.

we went last december and we took sun tan cream but a low factor, we went to the water parks as well, and i managed a tan so we liked it (dont like loads of heat) so we are going again this december

I plan to go to a water park in December - I swam in the sea in Cornwall the week before last, after that a swim in Florida in December shouldn't be too bad :)

I used to always go to Florida for the end of Nov beginning of December. The weather tends to be cooler in the Morning/Evening. I usually wore shorts and t shirt with a cardi or fleece that I either left in the car or placed in a locker. One year the temperatures went really low for a few days and I had to buy gloves and wear long sleeves one day in AK. I also wore a fleece for the fireworks as it was cold at night.

I would describe it as warm in the sun but chilly at night (usually) it tended to warm up by about 11.00am and got chilly as soon as the sun went down.

Have to say though the humidity is very low and you wizz around the parks also the parks are just so special at this time of year with the decorations and the shops have loads of sales after thanksgiving :D
